I tried eBay, but everyone there wants to bankrupt you.

Is there anywhere else that I can find older Lego sets for reasonable prices? I understand they'll cost me, but I don't want to pay 3 or 4 hundred bucks.

Many sets sold 'whole'. Otherwise you can 'part them out' and buy the individual bricks to construct them from scratch.

You can also sort sets by 'Star Wars' - I assume that's what you're looking for?

Be aware that some sets *are* going to cost you big money if you want them. Good luck finding a UCS X-Wing and an original gunship if they're on your list. tongue

Demand for the original gunship will drop once the new Clone Wars version is released. Who knows what it will do to prices, but chances are they'll head down a little.

I'm so proud of my Gunship. Curse the re-release.

(which I will probably buy anyway)

I seem to have lost interest in the prequel sets now that there're no movies to hype me up. Maybe the TV series will re-pique my interest, but presently I'd rather buy Indy than Prequel Star Wars.

Hmm. Indy stuff doesn't really interest me. I bought the Motorcycle Chase, just because I wanted a Lego Henry Jones Jr. and Sr., but the rest of it is too err... 'spread out'? It seems to be replicating scenes, locations, from the movies rather than focusing on one interesting object. Not so easy to display. I like the SW craft (OT or PT). Easy to display and striking (in most cases) to look at. Indy stuff doesn't have that attraction.

Sure, I have Cloud City and like it, but it's not one of the sets I currently have on display simply because it's hard to display (particularly so if you want the Vader / Luke scene suspended above a drop).

I don't know how old you're looking for, but if you want to find it at retail, K-Mart is probably you're best bet [especially if you can find one located in a crummy part of town]. I bet you could still find an Atari 2600 at your local K-Mart if looked under all of the unsold copies of the 'E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial' video game tongue .

Seriously, they may still have stuff from a year + ago.
