Was there not talk of a ToysRUs exclusive of Mcquarrie designed aliens?

I took a quick look on Rebelscum. In their Multipack section in the Photo Archives there's an entry for a Geonosis Creatures TRU exclusive but no details or date. I didn't see any McQuarrie aliens.

I haven't heard anything either. I thought I read a rumor that they were going to consider expanding the concept to the prequels -- Iain McCaig and those guys.

I would like to see Hasbro take the idea to the ships and creatures level. I'd love a blue Cloud car and a concept Taun Taun.

Just completed all the Mcquarrie figures not too long
ago, and now you guys are really going to break me!

What a cool idea though, i'm sure Hasbro is looking into
it. What did Melenium Falcon look like at first or at-at?

One of the original concepts for the 'Millennium Falcon' was what eventually became [with some tweaking] the Rebel Blockade runner [Tantive IV]. And I think one of the early AT-AT concepts was actually a wheeled, tank-like vehicle and another was squattier, like the AT-TE from 'AOTC'.

Even though some may not like the prequels, That is a
fact that they went back and used some of these concepts
from the original trilogy to make these new figures/vehicles/
    playsets with.

Isn't there a Mcquarrie concept book/magazine you can buy?

There was a Star Wars Portfolio that came out in 1977. It was McQuarrie concept art. I have a battered one in my SW book pile. It's not a book though - it's a collection of pictures of concept art. You can probably find one on eBay. Amazon UK has two used ones as well.

Thanks , i'll look for it.

I think it would be cool to see Mcquarrie ships/playsets
to go with the figures. (although i am broke)

Ralph's original design was used as a starting point for the Blockade Runner (Tantave IV).

The cockpit was changed as the intital concept was thought to be a little too close to the 'Eagle' ships from Gerry Anderson's 'Space 1999 happy

Check out the book "The Art of Star Wars". I've got one of the hard-covered ones from when it was first released, but I believe they reissued them in soft-cover back in the late 90's. It's an amazing book.

I have a book of concept art for RotJ somewhere around here. Came out in '83 or thereabouts. Don't know if there were earlier ones.
WEG used concept sketches as other vehicles in their various source books until they lost their RPG license to WotC. Thus some concept sketches became EU vehicles.
