Wow, been a long time since I peaked my head in here! It's a good thing I held off on my robes before, since now they are different. Does anyone have any nice reference pics, or are you all going off what you remember from seeing the movie?

I'm glad they helped
Master_Domtis
. There aren't many pics around unfortunately, but we are very lucky to have a few.
Q99213
, there are some sites that have galleries of photos (like
Atypically.knit
), but I have some robe-specific images that I have lightened to get the details on the lining and facings on my site
here

RE: Harry Potter Cloaks/Costuming
Alright, I've done some more reaserch into the costumes and am completly taken with the entire movie's wardrobe. I'm currently making a website based lightly off of the Padawan's Guide dedicated to Harry Potter. I'm doing the major Professors, all student uniforms from all the movies, the four ghosts, and other major characters (like Sirius, Filtch, Lucius etc). I actually have the school uniforms for movie 1,2 and almost 3 done, Snape and McGonnagel. I have all the ref picts I need (and how!) for most costumes save Peter Pettigrew and Cornelius Fudge, if anyone has references for them, please help. Also, if anyone has any character requests, I'll be more than happy to oblige! (I thought this movie could use a page like this...especially concidering star wars and lotr both have very good ones already).
starfire-phoenix
: can I use those picts you showed me of ravenclaw and hufflepuff? I'll give you a credit of thanks
Thanks everyone!

The Madame Malkins Yahoo Group has been talking about doing something like this up for quite some time now, but I'm not sure where they got up to, but yeah, it's a great idea, and I'm glad somebody is finally going to tackle it.
I can't take credit for those pics because they aren't mine. They are captures of the virtual tour on the official HP website. You'd best ask atypically.knit or capture them yourself.
Good luck with it all, and keep us posted

Hey all, a few quick questions:
Has anyone ordered a pair of Quidditch goggles from, well, can't put their name so if you know who I mean, then please let me know if they are decent quality. $10.99 seems like such a low price!
Also, where could one get a Quidditch sweater? I was looking back when I first started this project and only found one person, but there seems to be more people doing it now. The only place I've found online is $95, which seems a little steep for a sweater.

Yeah, for being 'offical' merchandise, I didn't think the goggles were too bad.
'Course I wear them on my head most of the time but....

Awesome! I'm now fighting my desire to either buy food this week or order a broom
btw, now that POA is out, what is everyone making? I'm having a hard time deciding between the new style of Quidditch robes and the old. I know I'll have to make the decision again when I make the school uniforms, ahhhhhhhhhh!

Yeah, it's hard to choose. I felt the same way a few months ago, however, the more I looked at the new ones, the more I liked them. Besides, the smooth line between the hood and the rest of the robes looks great, and the darker grey is very nice

RE: Harry Potter Cloaks/Costuming
I decided to make PoA robes (rather than PS/SS/CoS) because the uniform skirts are much darker in PoA and I already have the right color wool on hand.
I may or may not get the uniform done in time for GenCon, but it'll definitely get done within the year.

RE: Harry Potter Cloaks/Costuming
I heard a rumor that they had the POA robes and the POA Qudditch robes on display at Comic Con.
Did anyone get pictures? I'm especially interested in the quidditch robes. When I have the needed resources, I'd like to redo my robes to be accurate.
Just curious if anyone that went happened to take notes or pics. Thanks!

If they had 'em, I missed 'em. I didn't see any "official" HP stuff at all, really.
