Yes, that's still Emma Watson and Tom Felton. They stopped slicking TF's hair back (good) but instead he has a silly bowl cut that no Malfoy would be caught dead sporting (not good).
And once again, they prettied up EW exponentially from the last movie. Emma is a very pretty girl, but frankly, Hermione is not supposed to be a stunner-- at least not to 13-year-old Harry's eyes. BUSHY hair, people! BUSHY, not WAVY! And don't *even* get me started on that pink hoodie. Hermione DOES NOT wear pink hoodies.

LOL!
They all look a little different to me because they're growing up. I have to say though, I preferred Malfoy's hair slicked and Hermione's poofy.

RE: Harry Potter Cloaks
Draco's
new hairstyle made him looked like a "Crybaby" IMHO.
I prefer the slick back
Draco
as that gave him that cruel and arrogant look.
Ya, the change in the school uniform is a pain in the rear, especially for me who wanted to have a "Current" Hogwarts Student Uniform for PoA release or later. Already gotten a Grey "Sweater" (
actually a Long Sleeves, V-Collar T-Shirt since Singapore is so Hot and all my other friends are using the same or similar t-shirt
) and added the Slytherin Piping-Bias Tape (
initially did it for my Myrtle before I realized she's not wearing a sweater
) but now got to remove it (
ya, luckily it was sew on rather than painted on like what some of my friends are doing
. The paint job for the new tie will also be a pain to do as one of the silver line is suppose to be very thin and those looking for short cut may not be able to get the tie online anymore unless they are going for SS/CoS look.
Anyhow, seems like they are making the uniform even more different between each Houses. Remember that during Myrtle's and Tom's time, they made all the Male students wear the same kind of uniform and same case too for the girls? By Harry's time, their School Tie, Pipings on the Sweater and School Patch differiate them from one House to another and now by PoA, the changes is even more obvious. So does that means they are trying to work up to the "division" that was occuring between students of each houses and thus indirectly gonna be making what the Sorting Hat is saying in OotP even more meaningful when they get to make OotP movie? Then again, the people at the costumes departmant might had just been bored.
Will attempt to do the new school robe next year so will wait for even more infos about the new uniforms.
Hmm, has it been confirmed that the new school Robe have a Hood instead of the semi-circle Collar? Looks at the back of one of the Gryffindor students inside the Dinner Hall in the Teaser Trailer, it does look like a bunched up hood (
the Maroon lining is the give away I think
). But still, can't tell what shape is the hood. ?:| This is gonna be another long wait . . . .

new director = new vision in all departments, simple as that
I'm taking design course for my Theatre minor, so I've been learning a lot about the pull the director has on stage and film both.
Anyone happen to know if they've gotten new Costume Designers as well?
btw, I order my ravenclaw colors scarf today... hehe more for practical reasons than for the costume, its getting cold around here

Jayne, I think there's a site called wizardcostumes.com that you can buy the sweater and such.
I know someone who makes excellent cloaks if anyone would like one.

I was looking at the picture from POA where Hermione is pointing her wand at Draco and I noticed that her wand is different. It has a more natural look to it with a vine that twists up it. Did anyone else noticed this? Unfortunately, I don't have a scanner so I can't upload the picture.

Yay! I found the picture at
knit.atypically.net
I don't think I can link directly to it so just click on the link for poa reference, the image is on the bottom row. It is the one with Hermione threatening Draco with her wand. The detail of the wand shows up better in the photo I found in Xpose magazine but this is the best image I found online.

I recall reading that JK Rowling asked them to change the wands for this movie so that they didn't have the fancy look to them.

I just got a great source of harry potter costumeing for 4 bucks.
Go out and buy the 2004 desktop calendar-you know the day by day ones? It comes in a purple box and has the holographic-like Hedwig and Hogwarts castle on it.
It's awesome...I might do the Slytherin quidditch robes, I've got some good shots for those here

I found this tie at Profitts. It's not exactly like the new ones but its pretty close.
Ravenclaw Tie
The had similar ties in various colors as well
What do you all think of it?
