Nah, no Rebel Legion Mara--we have enough confusion with our costuming standards as it is.  Besides, nobody knows who I am anyway. Even at Comic Con everyone was clueless.  But thank you!

I get that with Mara at times as well. Sometimes people ask if I'm supposed to be Darth Vader. *shakes head* Silly people.
But for RL, if you have an EU character, you just have to submit reference images.

i made a Mara costume earlier this year for the Ep3 premire (based on some comic images) and am having a hard time getting into the 501st. we'll see what they say is inaccurate, but i wanted to hear what some other Mara's have to say. pics here with comic book refernces included:

Rebel Legion is more lenient than 501st on Mara. That's for the simple reason that Imperial Mara is much more specific in reference to the costume than is post-Emperor, smuggler, or Jedi Mara.
501st is very specifically looking for you to be as close as possible to the SW Insider cover. They would want it to be one piece (or look like one piece)--that they are pretty definite on. They may also have concerns about the boots. They would likely want a cape in either purple or tan, as well as black gloves. You do have the correct saber. You also have goggles and the knee/shin pads. 
For EU in Rebel Legion, there is more leniency since it takes in several phases of her life. You provide the pics of the costume you are replicating and they will use those as the standard for admission.
On a personal note, I like the costume. The jacket is cool.

Pariah, that costume is great, and I would definately recommend you submit it to the Rebel Legion. With the reference picture from the end of the comic, you will have no problem My suggestion would be to applyt as a Smuggler Mara, not the Jedi Mara. Since that's what she was at this point.
So far, there hasn't been one Mara Costume here that wouldn't be accepted to the Rebel Legion, even withthe new standards that have been worked out.

I used vinyl sewn together with wadding inside and I hand coloured the black with a gold T shirt paint. Used the same for the circle at the front and the bag.

I'm attempting to make a somewhat western-style belt, holster, and blaster for my costume. I love the show Firefly and think that style would be perfect for Mara given her smuggling lifestyle. I want to keep it somewhat petite though, so not as huge as a Han Solo belt, for instance. Has anyone made something like this and have some reference photos they wouldn't mind sharing?

Sorry, can't help. My dad does all my leather work for me. 
I did a variation of Mara for a Star Wars wedding I went to last year, (Guri and Stormies Wedding) Here are some pictures of it...the second is my friend who plays Luke to my Mara..
