In OWK news, I got some fabric finally from another costumer. Nice weaved cotton linen with the crinkle through it. Light but not see-through which is nice.
I did a new paint work for my resin pouches first wave. Take a look here:

I am really proud of what I did, really. What do you think? Each one is unique. It is impossible to duplicate them. The pattern is random.

I've got Singapore Obi Wan Boots up on eBay. They are brand new, never worn, and Men's Size 10. If you need cheaper boots for your OWK ROTS costume these are the ticket.

Does anyone have any strong opinions/recommendations about obtaining screen accurate boots for an Obi-wan ROTS costume? I have been studying motorcowboy's pictures of Obi-wan Episode III boots, and I am not sure which color choice would be the most screen accurate. Are there other providers of boots that rival motorcowboy's? I have been examining the boards here, at Captain Carter's, and other places but I am trying to come up with a current opinion on the subject. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We discussed that here some many pages ago. MotorCowboy are great but not screen accurate. You should try Leather Boutique on eBay. I am working with Carlos Diaz, the owner, to build screen accurate Boots.

I've registered on your new Forum. I look forward to visiting it often :-)
What exactly about the MotorCowboy boots do you find the least accurate? The price is what gets me the most. I've begun examining the Leather Boutique boots, and while the style and distressed look of the boots looks cool, the color doesn't seem right to my eyes. Any thoughts?

Well, MC boots shin guards are round at the top. They should be plain. You know what I mean? And yes, leather boutique color is off for me. As I said in this forum, I am working with Carlos Diaz ( from LB) to improve their boots.

Hi,
I purchased a pair of Kenobi boots from Motorcowboy. I asked for leather samples, but he said to just go by the photos (sending samples would take too long, and nobody has ever questioned his coloring of leather as being like the official boots). I agreed (that's MY fault) and ordered from him last October - ordered in late July for Halloween, received them in November (!) The color was WAY off, the cut was so bad, a cobbler told me he could not fix them; they looked NOTHING like his webpage in color or design detail. I sent him photos of the boots pictured on his webpage, contrasting with photos taken of the boots he sent me. He agreed there were serious flaws. While the re-made boots arrived too late for Halloween (the reason he knew I ordered them) and though he refused to refund my money (even though HE was at fault), to his credit, he re-made a pair... which had the EXACT same flaws, though admittedly not quite as bad. At this point, the guy simply refused to return any contact from me (he resides in Thailand; business is mediated by his brother in the States). If I sound mad, I am, but still trying to be fair in my criticism. I would gladly post photos of the final boots he sent me, so people can make up their own minds... but I need someone to tell me how (exactly) to download photos (if it matters, I use Vista). I just feel, for nearly half a grand, a guy should produce a product that resembles what's shown on his website, and in a timely manner. Yup, I am pretty mad...

I'd completely forgotten about this, but I'd sent an e-mail to Maggie at Padawansguide like months ago and she finally e-mailed back saying she'd put it on her site! yaay! Anyhoo, here's the info, sorry I didn't share it with you guys earlier...
I saw somewhere that someone said "Obi-Wan's tunic has to be lined
because the fabric is see through." Well, yes, the sleeves are definitely
lined, we can see that. But looking at this photo on your site:
http://www.padawansguide.com/photos/marte1.jpg it's obvious that the top
portion of the tunic is not lined! This explains the strange shape of his
dickie! Normally the edge on the wrap portion obscures the brown fabric
(it's a double layer) but this manequin was dressed rather haphazardly and
you can see the brown triangle showing through! The bottom of the tunic
looks like it is lined, see here, next to the boot on the right
http://www.padawansguide.com/obiwan/three/obi_promo8.jpg (it had to be,
otherwise we'd see through his legs! ;o) ) But the top portion is merely
one layer of fabric, which we don't see through because of the white fabric
in the dickie.

You are right, It was a pleasure to meet you at the stage of the costume contest. This is the way I did mine with the fabric you found:

Cool! But you didn't line the skirt, did you? With that fabric it wouldn't be necessary
It was so cool to meet you too! I saw you get on stage and I was like, that's the guy with my fabric!!! lol! Your wife looked beautiful
Here's my brother in his costume! It was still a little haphazard at that stage, hopefully I'll perfect it for Halloween. He's just wearing khakis cause I still haven't had time to make pants... and I haven't finished hemming the bottom of his Jedi cloak!
