	Ok, i wanted to dedicate this costume to a thread of its own, especially since I am going to make it! This looks like it has 3 layers to it. Layer 1: The dress. Layer 2: The middle piece, attached to the 1st layer. Layer 3: The back/shoulder/neck robe And then gloves. The gloves allow the thumb hole. The fabric color looks like a creme White/Ivory color. The fabric looks crinkly like and maybe some form of silk. I am hopefully gonna have this done by C3. Any input? Patterns? Fabrics? 	Put me on the list of making this outfit! So far it's the only Ep III costume I really want to make. Went shopping/browsing a JoAnn's yesterday, and picked up a pattern to use as my base. McCall's 4001. Empire-waist dress with A-line skirt, and is one of their "cut-to-fit" patterns so I can adjust for my hips without screwing up the way the skirt falls. It's got bust gathers and darts, but that's going to be hidden by the tabbard so I don't mind. I also found a near-perfect sheer to do the fingerless gloves and be the overlay in the home dec section, but it's $10 a yard. Definately going to hold off on buying that until I figure out just how much yardage I'm going to need. 	As soon as I finish my Mara Jade costume, I'm starting this one. It's by far one of the prettiest prequel costumes of all--Amidala's are always either too flashy or too revealing for me. I like this one--elegant and simple. Shouldn't be too hard to make. I'll be checking out this thread later...anyone who is making the costume, please put up pics of the progression and the final product. 	I made this costume a couple months ago. It was going to be a surprise for CIII, but now that there is more interest in it I'll share. I used Butterick 6598 for the pattern, probably not the easiest to use, but I had it on hand so it worked. For the fabric, I lucked out and found it at the Denver Fabrics Annex store when I was looking for something else (the only time I ever find stuff that's perfect LOL). I'm not sure what kind of fabric it is, but it's crinkly on one side and smooth on the other with a stretch to it all. It's a little see-through so I had to line most of it. I ended up using about 11 yards of fabric. How do you guys think she carries her blaster? I mean, how would it attach to her dress. I made a belt for the costume based the Padme concept drawing that I could add a holster too. Any ideas? And is the gun hers or is it Bail's in the picture above? I have one Star Wars blaster I bought at thrift store awhile ago that I might be able to modify. I'll post a picture of it soon and if you could please let me know what you think about it. 	Hi there! I'm making this costume today. In fact I am leaving to get the fabric in an hour. But I do have a couple of questions that I'd like to get everyone's input on. What is she wearing under the dress? I know there is a slit up the side, so is she wearing white hose or pants? Because in the picture I saw it didn't look like she was bear legged. Also I think that the thing on her head makes a kind of cross. There's one that goes from side to side on her head and then a second section that goes from front to back. On this piece it looks like it actually connects to her pony tail. Do you think this is right?

	Phew This dress drove me crazy already. And something as simple as.. THE DRESS ITSELF! relaxes finally I got the main dress done tonight. I made it a few inches off the ground, because I know for a fact -- walking in floor lengh gowns is VERY annoying. I used 2 fabrics for this dress to achieve the right color (And to achieve proper comfort for my wallet) I used a sheer ivory crinkle fabric ontop of a pure white crepe type fabric. Progress pictures here I still have the middle peice, gloves, and main "cloak" to make.
