I'm still waiting on mine, but I have my digicam ready and will dedicate a whole webshot album to the costume and take pics of every detail big and small.

Hey man, does the Old Line Garrison cover Northern Virginia as well?

Nope. Well, I take that back, it depends what you mean. Old Line owns Maryland, plus DC. Anything with a VA address belongs to Garrison Tyranus. There's plenty of cross-garrison trooping, though. We in Tyranus do events in Old Line's space, they troop ours, both of our garrisons travel to events in PA (Carida's territory), or NC or SC (Carolinas), Georgia, Florida, NY (Empire City Garrison or Northeast Remnant)... no one ever said you couldn't attend events in other garrisons' territories. Conventions of any size at all tend to draw people from multiple garrisons' areas - Farpoint and Shore Leave (both fan-run conventions in Baltimore, MD) draw people from all over the East Coast, and events like DragonCon in Atlanta and ComiCon in San Diego get hundreds of us from all over the country (and even some from outside the US). Probably a good idea to check with the locals, in case there are troop attendance limits or if you want to wear a "name" character's costume to a non-convention event, but we really WOULD be the snobs some claim we are if we were to say no one from outside "our area" could troop at one of "our" events.

Is there a site for Garrison Tyranus? The only one I saw on the 501 website was for the Old Line. A lady my wife works with her husband is in the 501 but he never said if he was part of a Garrison or not. Just curious.

Well, the way things are set up, you pretty much HAVE to be part of a garrison - whichever one is responsible for the geographical area you're in. Doesn't obligate you to troop with them, or to not troop with another garrison, by any means, but officially, you belong to whichever garrison owns your hometown. There are plenty of garrisons with websites - I think most of them, now, have at least a rudimentary site, and some of them are REALLY good. You can access them from the Garrison Contact page on the main 501st site.

Tyranus HAS a website (www.garrisontyranus.com), but it's not much of one - about all that's getting updated at the moment is the Events list, while we hash out trying to get a better website up and running on another server. Don't know how long that'll take. If you'd like, I can put you in contact with GT's leadership - CO, XO, Membership Liason - if you've got questions I can't answer for you. Or, come to think of it, I'm pretty sure GT's contact info on the Garrison Contact page of the 501st site is up-to-date, so you can get them for yourself if you so desire.

Has anyone ordered the costume lately? I ordered mine a month ago with an ebay dealer, and
haven't received it yet. The dealer mentioned that there is an excess demand for it and Rubies
hasn't been able to keep up with it and keeps delaying the delivery.

That sounds about right mate, I've heard this happening all over the net. They recon that they should be back on schedule by mid to late August.

Having the same problem. Pre-ordered in May to be in stock for June. No sign yet and Rubies have told my Ebay seller they are 2-3 weeks off.

Thanks man I'll check it out. Still haven't decided where I'd like to invest my cash yet -- ROTS clone or a Vader -- but when I do I'll get with you, I'm sure you can help me out with all that stuff happy

I'm leaning towards a clone because I'm sure there's already a Vader or two and I bet I'd be at the bottom of the tottem pole grin

If you need help with a site let me know, I can do some things.

Here's my thinking from what I've seen about the Vader Supreme.
I have a great Vader suit as it is. THe helmet is the CA and the rest is from GT. I'm happy with the paint job from vader painter.
Now I don't know if people have the same problems that I do but some parts of the suit are not very practical to wear for extended periods or in large crowds. THe shoulder bells are not very secure and are always getting scuffed or messed up under the chest plate. The chest box pieces are very fragile and the chrome bars on the side always need to be replaced. also my shinguards always twist out of place. And for my money, it's no fun to have Vader needing adjusting in public. And it's not like I wear this more than once a year. I'm not in the 501st, so I only wear it on Halloween
If nothing else, I'd like to get the Vader supreme to solve those very problems. The chest armor is held together by the hinges AND it's much more light weight. The chest box is one piece and lighter weight. and the shin guards seems like they fit better (Is it a zipper in place of the straps?)
From what I've seen, the plastic of the armor looks thin, but wouldn't a snazzy paint job from Vaderpainter do the trick? Theres an example of a custom fan made ROTS armor on the Star Wars helmets site and that looks to be the sumpreme armor from it;s thinness. Does anyone know if Vader painter will paint the supreme armor? I've tried to email him the quetion several times with out a response.
So I guess I'm asking if any one else ha A) had the same complaints about the GT armor that I had? And B) Has anyone combined pieces from a Supreme suit and the GT stuff? And if so how does it look?

Well you can fix the problem with the shoulder armour by simply fuseing it to the chest armour. That's what I did. No problem with that.
Boots should solve the other problem.

The Rubies is good as an stunt suite, for fan films with fight scenes, because you can't really move in a Fiberglass composed costume that well.
