EricT posted:SSIntimidator posted: Hey man, does the Old Line Garrison cover Northern Virginia as well? Nope. Well, I take that back, it depends what you mean. Old Line owns Maryland, plus DC. Anything with a VA address belongs to Garrison Tyranus. There's plenty of cross-garrison trooping, though. We in Tyranus do events in Old Line's space, they troop ours, both of our garrisons travel to events in PA (Carida's territory), or NC or SC (Carolinas), Georgia, Florida, NY (Empire City Garrison or Northeast Remnant)... no one ever said you couldn't attend events in other garrisons' territories. Conventions of any size at all tend to draw people from multiple garrisons' areas - Farpoint and Shore Leave (both fan-run conventions in Baltimore, MD) draw people from all over the East Coast, and events like DragonCon in Atlanta and ComiCon in San Diego get hundreds of us from all over the country (and even some from outside the US). Probably a good idea to check with the locals, in case there are troop attendance limits or if you want to wear a "name" character's costume to a non-convention event, but we really WOULD be the snobs some claim we are if we were to say no one from outside "our area" could troop at one of "our" events. SSIntimidator posted: Is there a site for Garrison Tyranus? The only one I saw on the 501 website was for the Old Line. A lady my wife works with her husband is in the 501 but he never said if he was part of a Garrison or not. Just curious.

EricT posted:Well, the way things are set up, you pretty much HAVE to be part of a garrison - whichever one is responsible for the geographical area you're in. Doesn't obligate you to troop with them, or to not troop with another garrison, by any means, but officially, you belong to whichever garrison owns your hometown. There are plenty of garrisons with websites - I think most of them, now, have at least a rudimentary site, and some of them are REALLY good. You can access them from the Garrison Contact page on the main 501st site. Tyranus HAS a website (www.garrisontyranus.com), but it's not much of one - about all that's getting updated at the moment is the Events list, while we hash out trying to get a better website up and running on another server. Don't know how long that'll take. If you'd like, I can put you in contact with GT's leadership - CO, XO, Membership Liason - if you've got questions I can't answer for you. Or, come to think of it, I'm pretty sure GT's contact info on the Garrison Contact page of the 501st site is up-to-date, so you can get them for yourself if you so desire.
