Nice work Exar_Xan! The EP IV Luke is really great, the jacket looks fantastic. On the EP VI Luke you should share some photos with the hood up, and show off the boots too. nice job.

Well if you follow this link you will find this dark image that shows off boots and the hood up. Thats really all I have when it comes to pictures. A friend made more pictures of it at a Belgium Convention, but that camera was stolen.

While we're on the subject of Luke costumes, Official Pix is offering personalized Mark Hamill autographs on ANY photo of your choice! It's not only a chance for an autograph, but an autograph of a Luke costume you already have or are planning to do. Just a thought. Offer ends Dec. 10.

Hi, I might be interested in doing Luke ROTJ costuming. I know that Captain Carter is planning on making Luke ROTJ fabric costumes. Does anyone know any less expensive ways to get the boots that's close to the real thing?
1. Also, anyone know where on the net(not ebay) can I purchase cheap finished lightsaber than MR version? Lightsabers that are almost to real Luke's Jedi saber.
2. Who on the net makes the black glove?
3. Where can I get the belt and gear set?
Sorry for going too fast.

Well Matt-K I am not much of a help for you, but I can tell you that if you base your costume on the Jabba Palace scenes you can skip the belt, saber and glove since he is not wearing them at that time. Thats what I did as you can see in the picture few post above. If someone knows where to get a bone to jam into the Rancors teeth however I would appreciate it .

Very well put, Jedi-Loreen.
As for the glove, for mine I used a women's black glove from Wilson's Leather (size XL). I wanted a tight plain black glove that extends about 2-3 inches past the wrist like what I saw at the Magic Of Myth exhibit. I believe they have similar gloves at Target.

I ordered the Jedi boots for $400 - they came in the wrong color and were poorly made. He fixed the color (I had to pay return shipping of another $25). The workmanship was still shoddy (I consulted a cobbler who said the boots were un-repairable, based on how they were cut incorrectly). $425, and I feel pretty duped. Buyer beware.

Sorry it took so long to get more pics, but here they are:
Holster:
Holster Pattern: That was my first draft. Obviously the edges ended up more even in the end product, and thre is a circle piece in the bottom that I don't have a pattern piece for. I made it to go around the toy blaster, and it was adjusted around the blaster itself.
Pouch Patterns:
Boot Patterns:
This was my first attempt at a holster, pouches and boots. My only leatherwork before this has been a few jedi belts and my Leia Ceremonial belt. I couldn't find any tutorials online, so I just gave it a go. The pouches aren't as difficult as they look. The patterns are a little fiddly, but once they fit together, they were easy to sew.

Phayze posted: Motorcowboy sells boots of the same style, but they're pretty pricey ($300+!! O_o). If/when I make this costume, I'll probably look for something cheap that fits well and just use a white leather paint to get the color. The leg wrapping cover up most of the boot detail, anyway.
Someone suggested motorcowboy for boots - I had a REALLY BAD experience with them. They sent me the boots in the wrong color, and cut in a way not at all like their photos ( I took them to a cobbler who said he could do nothing with them based on their cut). To their credit, since they goofed the color totally, they re-made them (but I had to pay $25 return shipping!), but again, despite my request to make sure the cut of the front tongue looked like their photos, they came ALL WRONG. Even friends who aren't into Star Wars ask me why they look that way (!) So, $425 later, I have a pretty poor pair of boots. And the maker won't even respond to emails now. Contact me for photos - jramza@hotmail.com. I'd be glad to back up my words.

Starfire - Thanks for posting the pattern pics! I'm getting quite a lovely stash of reference material for when I finally get to this costume.
Bil-Kenobi - Hahahah! Tatooine is like one big Disco Inferno! Love it.
Aikidodoc - Thanks for the PM - it reminded me to check this thread, which I haven't done in a long time, apparently. I'm sorry to hear that Motorcowboy didn't work out for you. I've heard they're pretty reputable, but they're way too expensive for me. They charge more for boots than I usually spend on a whole costume!! I would be curious to see the boots that you got, though, if you wouldn't mind posting the pics.
