The blade is just a polycarbonate tube with some kind of diffuser and a tip with some kind of reflector on the underside.

Everything you need to light it up goes inside the hilt.

I've already told you that you should go check out the forums at The Custom Saber Shop. You will find turorials about building LED sabers and what parts you will need for that. I doubt that anyone is going to post instructions for you here when you can find them for yourself with the help already given.

^^ Umm... Hmm.

Here's the link from the MAIN page circled in red. Notice the word "tutorials" in that link.

That link takes you to here...

The stuff I circled in red may interest you. As you can see, there are tutorials on building LED sabers.

I know your question was answered but there is some good info in those threads that may help you in the future. Good luck.

I don't get it.

You know, if I hadn't seen some of your youtube videos. I would still be doubting that English is your first language. The PMs we were sending to eachother awhile back is what led me to believe that... and the post quoted above is along the same vein. I'm not trying to be insulting, just stating an observation. It's just that you can be hard to understand at times and some of what you say can easily be misinterpreted because of the way you word it.

As for the post above, the only interpretations I can gather by the way you worded it is that 1, you are unaware that you can click the pics I posted which then opens them up to full size and makes the text on them perfectly readable or 2, you were drunk or high when you made that post. It's all about how you articulate the message you are trying to get across. Articulate wrong and the meaning can and probably will be misinterpreted.

Of course this can work in reverse. Perhaps I am not in the right mindset to interpret your post properly whilst everyone else reading it may know exactly what you meant. Regardless, no hard feelings, just stating an observation.

The fact that he doesn't use puncuation and capitilazation only makes it harder to understand what he writes. doh!

There aren't any tutorials for making the blades for LED sabers, because there doesn't need to be. There isn't much to it.

You stick your reflector on the underside of the tip and glue it onto one end of the blade. You need to use the right glue though, don't use super glue, it will fog the blade, or all purpose cement, I've seen that crack the polycarbonate. You need to use a cement made for polycarbonate or acrylic. I think it's Weld-On 3 that you need, but if you buy that, it will leave you with a lot of left over cement.

Before you put in the diffuser, see if you need to sand down the bottom edge of the tube, it may have been cut with a tubing cutter, which will leave a small lip on the outside of the tube and it will not fit inside the blade holder.

Then you need to make sure the inside of the tube it clean, especially if you had to sand the bottom of the tube. I blow mine out with some canned air.

Then push in the diffuser tube, or, if you're using a film, wind it tightly around a small wood dowel. Make sure you lay it down on a clean surface or it will pick up dust or pet hair, which will look bad when it's lit up. With my last blade, I laid the film onto a clean granite table, and wiped it down with Swiffer dusting cloth as I rolled it onto the dowel.

Insert it into the tube and let it start to unwind before carefully pulling out the dowel. I tap mine on the floor to even out the film then put a small piece of tape at the bottom of the tube, so the film can't fall out.

My last blade was a combination blade, as many of us are trying. It's a double roll of Corbin film, and about 3ft of clear polypropylene gift wrap for more even lighting.

Since you need the right type of glue for the tip, which isn't real cost effective if you're only going to make a blade or two, it might just be easier for you to buy a completed blade.

I used 5 minute epoxy to glue my tip on and had no problems with it. No cracking has occurred and it's not really an issue (for me) if the last 8th of an inch where the tip is inserted is fogged. I would also use 5 minute epoxy on the reflective disk if I were to use one that did not come with an adhesive backing.

I don't know what you're talking about. Are you referring to me? I use correct punctuation all the time. My post was actually a joke, somewhat mocking the guy to whom you were responding. The joke was "there are no tutorials on LED sabers" or whatever (since there ARE tutorials). But anyhow, that joke is moot now.

As to being hard to understand... I've no idea. Most everyone I know online seems to realize I am not only helpful regarding LED sabers and what not... but I do my best to give back in a clear way. I don't speak a lot of techo-mumbo jumbo either.

I was neither "drunk" nor "high" when I posted.

Anyhow. Just stating an observation.

I'm not being a grammar nazi by making the above corrections, just showing how the sentences could be worded better. Any mispelling and improper punctuation is not the main issue here, the poor sentence structure is (again, I mean no insult). The words you have chosen and in some cases, the way they were placed within a sentence, are often incorrect (or at least poor choices) and thusly can be misinterpreted by the people who read them (heck, I may have misinterpreted your above post and "corrected" some of it wrong). This is why I originally thought English was not your native tongue. You seem to be completely understandable in your youtube videos so I'm guessing it's just your writing skills that need work.

That said, please understand I'm not trying to insult or demean you. I'm just letting you know how your written messages appear to me and the incorrect conclusions I have derived from them.

Oh, good God. I can't believe you actually "edited" a posting of mine for grammar and punctuation. This entire thread has not only become a huge nerd fest... it's become a bitch-about-pointless-crap session.

And YES, you HAVE become a punctuation and grammar Nazi. Absurdity seems to be your primary language, Henchman. Oh, and for the record--many excellent writers actually BREAK rules in order to accomplish what they like with their words. Forrester would be a good example. So... take your grammar and punctuation choices and keep them to yourself.

WT*... this is just plain ridiculous. I don't have to stand for this kind of bull--[it's a waste of everyone's time[/i]. Especially when I was AGREEING with Henchman in the first place about the tutorials. So... back to the original point: THERE ARE PLENTY OF TUTORIALS ON TCSS, SO IF YOU NEED ONE--START LOOKING AND PAY ATTENTION.

Take care, and good luck to all.

P.S. Don't end a sentence with "to", Evil Henchman. At least one of your so-called corrections... made things WORSE grammatically. Nice going. *sigh*

S_S edit: removed disallowed words/euphemisms, and name-calling.

Wow, way to overreact there buddy. I wasn't trying to "flame" you but you took it the wrong way and flamed me. I was trying to help you become a better at written communication, not insult you. Since you are obviously not going to take my word on that, it's best that we end this discussion in this thread now. It is off topic (sorry about that) and you obviously aren't going to take my posts in the way they were intended.

EDIT: I also want to apologize for stating how I was interpreting your posts/sentence structure in a public forum. I should have done it via PMs. Now that I have thought about it, stating it to the public like I did was rude as well as off topic. I still feel the way I feel as I'm sure you do but still, it was rude for me to state what I did publicly and I see how it could be insulting even though that was not my intent.

As I run back towards to border that is "on topic" I want to say that I think I finally found a place that is willing to powder coat my saber. I've been looking in phone books and on the ineternet for about a month now after I found paint was a superbly poor substitute. Amazing how unwilling most companies are to do one off items.
