Yep I am a RL member with my tunics and with my first losely based off of picnic gown that I made when I was 16. And you're right I do have two Leia costumes now! I'm glad to hear they are going quickly. Hmm, I probably wouldn't be able to get it submitted until the 26th because of school. Is that enough time?

I went ahead and submitted mine last night. I'm not thrilled with the picture though, because my hair is down. But it is the only picture of just myself in the costume.
Approval pending I'm afraid. worried

Ammers - if your hair is down it might not get approved sad When people were debating on Leia hair color "requirements", the fair agreement we came to was that you could not reject someone if they had blonde hair or red hair. That is discriminatory. So, they agreed you could have any natural hair color so long as it was styled like the movie. But really, I think you easily have a few months to take a photo with your hair done and submit it. Then I'm sure it will be approved! Really, the official order for the trading cards will not go through for a few months. They are not even half way up to the order number they need to do a run of cards and the order has been open since before C4. I think the first run took an entire year for enough people to sign up for.

Well, I guess I'll retake it and resubmit the photo. Thanks for the heads up.

I submitted my costume for approval Saturday night around 2:30 am. They sent me an approval e-mail at around 2:00 pm Sunday.

Now that I'm official I'll chip in. happy

Yes, listen to Kay_Dee! This photo would make a fantastic trading card.

Submitting photos for RL membership: Be sure to take any photos for RL submission with good light, in front of a background of contrasting color. Please have your hair styled. Adding a few extra photos like ones with the hood up/hood down would be fun and you can add an iconoclastic pose for the photo that you want displayed on the RL site. grin

I hope these cards get made somewhat soon. I will be using my Ceremonial costume this time around and I'll get a copy of the awesome group Leia card with the set! wink

Yay! That's great! If you have problems getting your message board screen name and password to work let me know. It's been confusing for a lot of newer members because the message boards are at a .org site rather than the .com site that you submitted your application to. The user name and password they give you when you are approved to the .com site generally do not allow you to log in at the .org forums! You have to go in and personally set up a new user account at the forum.org site using the same screen name you use at the .com site. It is like you are creating an account at the .org site that matches the one you made at .com. After that, you often then have to make a post in Tech Support asking to be upgraded to 'full member' status so you can see all the members only threads like 'Legion Merchandise'.

Again, I don't want anyone to stress out about having enough time to register for Rebel Legion to be part of our order. And please don't feel disappointed if on the first time your photo doesn't get approved because of hair, or an accessory missing. Make a fun photo shoot day out of it and submit again happy

The way the trading card runs work, they need different members to sign up for at least 35 unique cards (like, a Kay Dee card, a JeadHead card - you get what I mean). Right now the tally is only at 16 for unique cards. With our card on the order that kicks it up to 17 but it will probably be a few months until they get 35 different cards ordered in order to put them into production. Hope that makes sense!

My friend was rejected like 4 times before he got in. It was just individual things like you could see his undershirt, or his boots weren't right so we got everything together and make a makeshift studio in my house with a curtain and took the pics and they were approved. We did this for our 501st membership and were accepted right away.

But like Kay Dee said, just have fun with it! I like to take pics out of the costumes I'm making and try to copy their stance and look.

I reserved the studio at my school and my dad is coming down so we're going to take pics of my Leia gown and hopefully I can get the costume approved over the weekend. It's not that I'm in a hurry for the card, I just want to be able to post event reports in RL. :_

Oh, and I don't want people to think they have to go to the extent of hanging a curtain up or getting a studio to take their photo (but that can be fun!). Many of my original submissions to Rebel Legion were just a regular photo of me, in my house, plain wall or our window curtains closed behind me to make the background simple.

The RL costume standards that are currently done are posted at http://rebellegion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8969 . They are viewable to non-members. There are also costuming threads over there. Details are usually the reasons that people might be declined the first (few?) times. Please don't give up!

I'm going to be in on this set and I can't wait to see this lovely group of costumers represented! happy

Ooops. I didn't mean people HAD to do it that way, that is just the way we ended up doing it. I think my first RL photo was against a wall too.
