Ah, at least I was correct in guessing that he was an EU bounty hunter! I would have had no idea if I didn't have the list of categories in front of me, and even then some stuff (like Akbar and the random Darth Maul) are not quite matching up.

- the non-Maul Maul (Darth Talon) was Best Alien - EU
- Ackbar was Best Alien - Movie
- Gonk was Best Humorous
- Lego Vader was Best Technical
- Senator Amidala/Maul was Best Group
- Ronderu lij Kummar and Qymaen jai Sheelal & Sith group tied for Most Original

Oh, Lego was technical? I remembered hearing him back stage say that he thought he fit in best humor. They were trying to decide what category to put him in.
I noticed one of my own errors - best group she is Queen Amidala, not a senator. I knew that

You are just as much worthy of your win, believe me. You were graceful and elegant on stage, the gown flows beautifully, and when you spread your arms to the display the wing sleeves, the delighted gasp of the crowd was audible. You were fabulous and definitely deserved first! But we can argue that the next time we meet.
And I'm glad I got a chance to sit with you and Ashlee and chat during the contest, as well as meet and chat with so many others over the course of the convention. It was great not to be running around as a volunteer for once, and I'm definitely looking forward seeing all of you again soon.

It was so nice to see everyone again! The MR gathering was so much fun (Sola, your dress was stunning!), as was the costume contest (Kudos to Jessica, Kay Dee and LeiaYT!). I have to admit my 'delicate condition' kept me in my room waaaayyyy too much (  ), and has kept me from my computer for way too long. Finally getting to wear my pink diamonds did lift my spirits, even though I had to go easy on the corset strings LOL. All in all, it was a blast, and I really hope to return next year. Now on to Halloween costumes.....

I wish I could have made it to the Star Wars contest! I wish I could have seen so many of those amazing costumes! Congratulations to everyone!

Experience has taught me that mine will not be the last Dragon Con gallery of the season to be made open the public. But it is likely to be amoungst the very last. I do hope you enjoy this selection as much as I have;

Great photos as always! You know, there is usually such a large influx of image posting right after the convention that I never take time to look at all of the photos. By posting your photos at a later time, I actually had time to sit back and enjoy browsing the gallery

Those Amidala's.. daaaaaang. I saw some as clsoe up I could backstage (in the dark) and my jaw was on the floor. Dang,masterwork for sure. I've sooooo much to learn, and will have fun doing it. :-) Only Amidala that's missing is the lavendar Kimono.:-) I'll make that one. :-) Then All of AMi's wardrobe can pose on stage. :-D
I enjoyed EVERYONE's costumes. WOW. The ceremonial Leia is a cool dress, one I wouldn't mind making as a regular peice of wardrobe. She was asking me if I'd been to any other Cons.(She was standing behind me in the big group pic.) Only ones I'd been to were a few Dragon Cons, Mega Con(Orlando FL) 2 or 3 times and a local Con called Necro-Nomicon. One or two in St.Louis. and One in Kansas City MO. that's about it. I could've forgotten COns too, my locla guids attend events, and Ren Faire too.

My costume still needs work. It was my first replica creation of a comic charactor Master Faye. I welcome opinions on tweeks.
Tunic length, movemnt, ya' know whatever can be improved.
How did the crowd react to my gear. I was too busy trying to not fall down to hear. I'm practically blind without glasses and those lights made me nearly sightless.
Next costume will be a mirilukan. :-)
