Some pretty good looking clone armor there!
And you and your boyfriend, Ashley, are so cute together! And great job as always on the outfit, sissy.

I just finished making my sister's "medieval" prom dress, here are some pictures of a friend modeling it. Bonus points to whoever recognizes the symbol on the center medallion of the belt.
I haven't done that many costumes so far this year but I've got a lot lined up for the summer, including
-- 1620's costume for my boyfriend
-- Beauxbatons school uniform for a friend
-- Bellydance costume for myself
-- "Robot Maria" from "Metropolis" for myself for next Halloween -- I probably will be coming back here with a lot of questions on this one, for people who've made armor and the like

Yay, I've actually made a costume this year! (Thanks, Costume-Con, for forcing me to sew!)
My friends and I were the Space Girls (a Star Trek parody of the Spice Girls) and we won Best in Show Presentation at the Costume-Con SF&F Masquerade! I was T'Posh Space.
There's also a video of the skit on Youtube.

Hey! I've never costumed before (don't even know how to sew!) but I'm dying...literally...to make a jumpsuit...and make it look amazingly attractive!!! My brothers constantly give me grief that a for a girl to like starwars is equal to a guy liking care bears....so I am bound an determined to make an amazing jumpsuit, lightsaber...the whole working jedi look. Also I want to make the orange x-wing costume...but I'm probably being overambitious!
Hugs!

You can start with the orange jumpsuit by modifying one from Sullivan uniforms
Rip off the pockets that aren't the same, etc.

I'm modifying the white one for the jumpsuit for Hoth Princess Leia

Well, it's never too late to start.
I myself love SW on my own decision (blame it on Timothy Zahn's books and the tv for making SciFi and Fantasy so attractive) and not because Hayden was so cute as Anakin like some drooling fangirls are like (met a couple back when AOTC came out and barely 1 year later, they had forget about SW ).
Personally, I used to dread and almost flunk my Home Economics (Cooking, Sewing and....Home Economics) during my school days and this doesn't stop me from going into Costuming 1/2 a decade later cause even for the experts, each new project is a new lesson.
If you can't afford to get someone to make the outfit for you, then learn sewing; whether by attending such classes or reading illustrated books or asking someone to tell you the basics or watching videos. Each basic learned will eventually lead to a more intermediate knowledge and some times, things you thot you cook up turned out to be something that had been done for centuries by handsewer too.

As Blueeyedpadme said, for X-Wing Pilot, you can start with just modifying an Orang Jumpsuit or Worksuit. Over here, you can get a normal collar Cotton Drill Orange Jumpsuit for ~USD12 and the only things needed to be done (assuming you're of normal shape) is to redo the pockets and make the collar more Mandarin Round collar.
Then get some White Cotton and Elastics to make the Vest.
Other parts, as long as you can glue and paint, and maybe cut, can be made from things you find all around you like Parcel Box, Washing Machine Hose, wooden dowels etc etc.
To get an idea on how to go about making the X-Wing Pilot Costume, is to search online for website explaining about the costume more and maybe its construction, apart from reading the appropriate thread in SW Costuming Forums like that at Rebel Legion
Just an advice, it's NOT impposible make a "budget" X-Wing Pilot costume and still look presentable as long as you're willing to fork out some money and I'm not saying you must fork up hundreds; you can just spend barely USD50 if luck is on your side and you found most of the parts need "Free" or already at hand (ya, start looking at your kitchen, garage, attic for things that you don't want any more that can provide the raw materials for your costume).

For graduation, my college allows us to wear whatever we want. After Commander-DWH graduated as Leia, I decided that I had do graduate in costume as well. I've had a running joke for some time that I'm an elf, so I though a good end to the joke would be to graduate as an elf, but none of the elves I could find had dresses I liked enough. (LotR is pretty, but none of them grab my attention.)
And then I remembered my old love of the Warhammer Fantasy Wood Elves.
http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/woodelves/gaming/ariel/default.htm
I'll probably graduate without wings and entennae, but making the dress and belt stuff will be a good challenge. I'm going to do the dress in green, so I suppose the biggest challenge will be to find a nice light fabric with a sort of leafy look to it, without it being a printed cotton.
