Um... do we really not have any threads about these costumes? There aren't any listed in the index, and several searches didn't give me any results either. I could have sworn we did.

I don't remember one of the top of my head. Why, are you making this costume?

That's amazing that there aren't any threads.
I've been working on a Tusken Female for some time now and I have a tutorial site:
Jada's Tusken Female site
I've done everything but make the shawl. I'm also helping my husband with making his Tusken male.
edit: wrong link

Yeah, a couple of people (including myself) over in the RMFF forum have been thinking about putting some female Tuskens together to compliment the current Tuskens they have.
So, um... lets get a Tusken thread going, then!
Great resource, Jada! Thanks!

I have a few godzilla kit heads (bit big and heavy) and I have a few home made ones...but my favorite are the 3 heads I got from a guy in Argentina...they are perfect..light weight well weathered...etc...

Personally, I am not a fan of the godzilla kit at all. We have someone locally who makes a killer kit, with aluminum eyes, spikes and a great fitting helmet. We've done a bunch of tuskens locally and I'll post a few pics of it.
But first and foremost I would recommend that anyone looking to make a tusken go to the Krayt Clan. It's purpose is to help new tuskens get made. There is a lot of good info there, and if you are looking to make a female tusken, you might find some good stuff there as well.
Here are pics of my tusken and others from the RMFF:

Hope this helps!

Those are awesome costumes! I've been thinking of doing a female tusken eventually, as a change of pace from my usual Jedi/Sith regalia.

That's some great leatherwork, DMZbadger! Very nice work!!! And that's cool that you're doing a bantha. Is that for parades as a float, or just for grins and giggles?

I had my mask made by the Detachment Leader for the 501st's Krayt Clan. I was amazed at how lightweight it was. Here's my dog wearing it:
I made my bracelets out of Crayola Model Magic. I'll probably remake them with Sculpey.

Thanks, Kre!
I also did several different tea/coffee baths. The last one I did was the most successful. I used a whole box of black tea with some cinnamon and a few blackberry teabags. It gave the material a great color.
All I have left to do is my shawl and that is really killing me because I need someone to help me and if I ask my husband to pin fabric onto me I'm afraid he'll really pin it on me and turn me into a pin cushion!
