First, Sister_Sola if this is inappropriate please lock and let me know. 
Many of the Walmart stores have a nice little fabric and craft section in their stores with great deals on fabric (how many of us have found $1 a yard fabric there for our costumes, etc?).
I have heard through the costuming grapevine that some folks have done a letter writing campaign to the Walmart HQ and let them know how invaluable the fabric and craft section is. Just this morning I ran into a woman who was buying material to make costumes for a church play. She said that with Walmart they could afford to make costumes for a few dollars vs. $$$.
I'm going to be writing into the HQ and to my local store. If you want to help find the store number of your local Walmart here and then go to the contact us page. Let them know you value this department.

Some Wal-Marts already have. They've been phasing it out over the past years down here, at least.

they actual look like they are expanding it up here in Canada...we have 2 Walmarts in my city alone.

It's not inappropriate, just redundant. We have a thread on this from last year but I can't find it after searching with the search and manually. If anyone else can find it, pass it on eh?
