Lucas Licensing’s STAR WARS replica clothing and armor licensee will assume the design and production of the high-end, collectible ensembles and full sets of the iconic armor including stormtrooper and bounty hunter armor. Museum Replica’s line will debut in the spring and continues the remarkable popularity of high-end collectibles for discerning STAR WARS enthusiasts. The line will feature replica clothing and armor of such unforgettable characters as Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Maul, PadmEAmidala, Anakin Skywalker, Boba Fett, Han Solo and Princess Leia. Newly formed Windlass Studios will develop, manufacture and distribute collectible, limited-edition replicas of full-sized and wearable ensembles. They expect the first ensembles to be available for pre-order in the spring while the armor is set to be unveiled for the first time at San Diego Comic-Con International in July. Will the quality be up to costumer's standards? I'm really curious about the Padme costumes and how accurate the detailing will be. edit: This sounds interesting (taken from an interview with a MR rep): CP: Will the costumes be replicas of pieces that were used in filming or will they be idealized versions of what people 'thought' they saw on-screen? (This is always a bone of contention among collectors) RC: They will be as close as is humanly possible to the screen worn versions. …Again with all the bells & whistles. Keep in mind that in the 70’s, there wasn’t the thought to keep wardrobes around for posterity or an after market of collectors like today. Throw in that some garments were true one-offs like Padme’s gowns (we’re doing some of those too) or the past decades may have seen a particular textile go extinct so that’s why we say as close as humanly possible. A few things just don’t exist any longer in any way for reference. What is extremely rare and very cool in our opinion is that we also plan to make all layers of an outfit, even the ones you don’t see on screen. In addition most fans don’t realize all the little unseen details that were done to the various outfits to get the garments to look right or sit perfectly depending on the scene. These little details will be there also. Some of the material is still being made from the original outfits, but most isn’t which means we need to custom make many of these garments from scratch. The research we are doing with Lucasfilm makes incredible accuracy still possible though. 	Sounds like Lucas has had enough of us making this stuff instead of buying it, and those that make and sell Star Wars costumes. As you know, Lucas would NEVER do anything to hurt his loyal fans... But he's sold the license to these guys and rubies (Who are coming out with a Supreme Deluxe Stormtrooper, like the Supreme Vader), and now it's out of his hands. When MR or Rubies takes someone to the cleaners for copyright infringement, Lucas can just say "I'm not doing it, they have the license, it's their right." -----signature----- Tried to warn you we did, Listen, YOU did not. 	Their clothing quality is usually decent. Sometimes poor. Occasionally great. I'll be interested in seeing what they do on this - luckily I live about an hour and a half from their store, so I forsee a road trip later this year...

	Well.....we can use their now-gone(??) LOTR Line as an example of the level of accuracy they're gonna give us for SW. 	I think this is great! Most of the people posting in here are very meticulous when it comes to the details, it's important that there are a lot of people out there who care more about getting something that makes them feel like they are part of Star Wars. Even if these costumes were just better than the Rubies I would say it was great and I would look forward to seeing more people in SW-costumes. 	Gosh, I don't know how I feel about this. I think part of me may feel a little like some of the Vader costumers felt when Rubies started to make the Vader costume. I've alway liked knowing that for the most part, what I see fans wear at conventions has been fan made and not mass produced. I also really hope that all of Museum Replica's research is coming from LFL, and not from the fans who have worked very hard to track some of these fabrics down and have openly shared these sources on the fan groups. sigh That's just the way life works. Even their comments about some fabrics no longer being around sounds like all the stuff we fans have been commenting on (Leia, 70's Quianna, cough cough) On the other hand, I do remember a lot of the LOTR stuff was not all that accurate.
