I'm drew up a plan for an Merr-Sonn PLX-1 Missile Launcher and need some opinions on what to use for a test prop. I'm not making a finished product I'm just making one to see what it will look like and if I need to make changes. I'm not going to use plastic besides for the 6-inch, and 3-inch barrels... i was thinking cardboard since most of its square but any other suggestions would be gladly appreciated

Cardboard for the initial design makes sense. For something a little sturdier you might consider MDF.
Here is an example of what you can do with it.

It's cheap pseudowood made from sawdust. It is cheaper than plywood so you find it in most construction sites nowadays.

Would i be able to get it locally or would I have to buy it online?

Edit: Does anyone know what the actual projectile the fits inside looks like?

Every lumber store has it. It is not a specialty item. The shelves in your entertainment center (if you have one) are probably made from it as it is so common.

Sorry for a double post, didn't have time to edit the other.

Does anyone know what the shell, cartridge, round or whatever it is looks like that goes into the Missile Launcher?

You could always use some "real world" bazooka round as a basis for comparison.... just an idea.

In this case you might have to look at other similar SW tech and try to extrapolate what the cartridges might look like.

Alright i'll look around, but in the mean time I have another question.

What should I use for the actual prop? I'm thinking cardboard since its light and I can get it for free. May I mind you, I do not have plastic or am not able to get it besides the PCV parts.

Also, what should I use to put it together if I use cardboard and PVC?

Mod up one of those nerf football-looking torpedo things you can get in any toy department....

Thats a good idea.... When I mod it tough with cardboard and other misc. parts should I use hot glue or bondo or what?
