I posted this in Fan Films but was told it went here
Hey , i'm 15 yrs old and am filming a star wars fan film. I am wondering whether anyone knows where to get cheap imperial blaster (any model) toys/prop, or how to make them? I am going to need around 10 -15. If anyone can please tell me how to make blaster props for very very very little money, or where to buy them for very very very little money. Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
Thanks
P.S. I am also going to have a darth vader in the film, but i want it to be a good and very believable Vader. I already have the right person for it. What i'm planning on doing is buying the Darth Vader Voicechanger (a good solid mask and panel) then a black cape, boots and gloves. The only problem is i don't know what to get for Vader's jump/bodysuit, because in the movie Vader's bodysuit is leather with rivet lines down it (or i think it is). If anyone can help with this issue it would again be most appreciated. But keep in mind that i am only 15 years old so i can't spend that much money. Thanks again.

find your local 501st garrison http://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.cfm#garrisons in your area or state and ask them if they have a Vader that would come out and help you. They usually would help those other star wars fans out.
Dont hurt to ask either, best of luck!

Satin might work out for you. But watch out for the lustre because you don't want it too shimmery or glossy. I have a suit that from a distance doesn't look like satin. It seems that two fabrics (the exterior being satin) sandwiches a layer of very thin foam, and then stripes are sewn by sewing machine. Much of the suit is going to be concealed by robes, and how much the rest will be picked up depends on lighting and your camera. The most important to making this work is (1) lighting and (2) making the physical profile look proportionate. You can always use camera angle and positioning (in relation to the actors) to create an impression of size.
Just curious, what kind of helmet are you using?
Also, this link will help you with tutorials on how to build blasters using PVC. Click on the word "Tutorial" next to each model you want to replicate.

what kinda spending money you got to play with? if you got some, for the purposes of which your going to use it for, a rubies supreme bodysuit would work out just fine. those can be found occasionally on ebay, for just over a 100 most of the time. in fact, i seen a few complete supreme costumes goin for less than 500 sometimes, and it would have everything you would need except boots and a saber.
i know, rubies blows, but for a short time use as this, it might be considered, as some tweaks can be done easily and cheaply to enhance the looks.
something to keep in mind, just a idea thrown out there.
