I think it was a racing motorcycle jacket, identical except in color to the one Ponda Baba wears.

That was a 1970's motorcycle racing jacket. They used that jacket for the Luke medal ceremony scene, Greedo had that jacket, as was mentioned, Ponda Baba. They also used the jacket for the ESB Echo Base pilots (for their cold weather gear).
If you have the means to, I would check in with the Rebel Legion forums, specifically, the pilots section and ask around for the "winter pilot coats" that the Rebel Echo base pilots (Luke, Dak, Wedge, Jansen, Hobbie and the rest of Rogue Squandron).
That would be the best resource that I can think of to access.
