Costuming Standards or Better Picture - Coruscant Nightgown

Does anyone know what fabric this nightgown was made out of --
I'm trying to have someone make it for me to save me the trouble.
http://www.padawansguide.com/nightgown.shtml
The thing is I need to try to provide more details or a better
picture.
Also does anyone know if there was a robe over this nightgown and if so what it was made of...
Please let me know.

I know Benae_Quee made one and wore it at CIV. No robe for this one but a drawing chemise(like the Ren Faire kind) seems to be the closest thing out there.

The person I contacted make the chemises for Ren Faires but I was curious about the fabric -- can't tell whether it is similar to the "traditional chemise" or made of a silk or velvet ???
Thanks for the information

Personally, I think some kind of silk (but not silk satin) or even soft cotton will do the job.

Since you are in Singapore -- do you know anything about the labor practices of places like costume base that sells
Star Wars costumes on Ebay? I worry that they are being made in sweat shops.
Thanks

just my two cents....
I think that the concept art for this nightgown is going to be the best referance- seeing the tiny images from Dressing a Galaxy, it looks dead on with the concept art.
No robe that I've seen- though Dorme does wear one when she rushes in.
Fabric- some kind of silk that didn't have a shine to it would work wonderfully.
And I don't think there are any costume standards for this one- I might be wrong though.
Hope that helps some.

I can confirm there are no RL standards for this one seeing as I have not written any yet for approval.

I afraid I can't really answer that since I think majority, if not all of CB's stuffs are Made in China or other Asian Country (Labour here a bit higher unless you know where to look for, like tailors/seamstress' who get regular orders for companies or schools so can pass the "profits earned" to us as slight discount. Cloths here also dun really run cheap as we don't produce any, unless they're damaged or the shop is closing down).
If the items ARE made in Singapore, then it's really made by adults as the government have strict rules on employment and "elementary" school education (Parents are "hunted down" if their under-12 kids is not registered at any public or private schools)
One of the owner did speak of being able to talk to his tailor (the ones doing the Anime/Manga Costumes and props) and pass on feedbacks on current costumes so its design or materials used can be improved but again, he didn't mention where is this tailor located.

Yeah, I did make a sort of last minute version of this for C4 to wear with my friend's Naboo Nightgown and robe. I used a light hanky weight cotton and boy is that stuff sheer... there is a reason you will not see any photos of me in it . It's honostly, not a practical costume for a con unless you line in something to make it not so sheer. I used a basic chemise pattern to make it.
