I am sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. at any rate, I have many star wars props, and several fx lightsabers (from master replicas). the problem is that they are not durable (suprisingly even when stored). previously I had converted my son's rotj luke, and anh vader sabers to luxeon blades due to duelling damage. recently my stored luke esb saber has lost several l.e.d.'s as well, but the company I had purchased the luxeons, and optics from is no longer out there- it was corbin's components.
that brought up a bigger question, the roman empire also sold accessories for building sabers- such as the rifle grenade and hand wheel for obi wan's saber. but they too are gone.
I have never done business with parksabers, ultrasabers, or the graflex shop, are they legitimate (trustworthy) businesses? I need parts and accesories that they claim to sell, but I do not like to buy from people I do not know. any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

In my experience, TheCustomSaberShop.com is a more than reputable outfit. They have provided me with quality merchandise, and prompt shipping.

I've heard good things about UltraSabers, but have no experience with them.

As to the rest, I can't honestly say.

EDIT:
P.S. TheCustomSaberShop has an extensive Tutorial/Forum that seems to cover almost any headache that might come up. Searching for it can be exhaustive, but a lot of information seems to be there.

The thing with randomsabers or ultrasabers is that they always backlogged. A testiment to their quality serice, I suppose. Parksabers is good stuff, but a bit on the expensive side.

I have got parts from The Custom Saber Hop, and hands-down they are great to work with. I had inadvertently goofed on my order. Tim, from TCSS, called me up personally to confirm the order. So, take it for what it is worth. And since they do have a pretty solid FAQ and message board, I'd say that you can deal with them in confidence!

I did not know about custom saber shop, they have some nice items, park sabers had some emmiters and pommels I wanted though, and ultrasabers lists some fiber optic blades on ebay that I was interested in. I do appreciate the response though, and will try out custom sabers.

when corbin dropped his site, he went in with TCSS as a co partner makin stuff for that site. i dont know if hes still doin that, but i bet hes still involved there. TCSS has his controller boards he sold before.

Ultra i know as well, hes a very good person to deal with also. dealt with him a few times and his products are top notch also.

I've been a satisfied customer of both UltraSabers and TCSS, I would recommend them highly.
I've got three of Ultrasaber's stunt sabers, the S3, Wraith, and Liberator. I love them all.
I've bought lots of parts from TCSS, and they're also great.

as far as Parks goes, personally i wont reccommend him. not after what i had found out he did to a guy that had a real movie used saber he loaned him to take measurements off of, and when he FINALLY returned it, it was a mess, not all the parts was on it, and some were replicas he had put on in place of the originals.

cant remember who the guy was right off hand, but at any rate, that wasnt right or ethical.

It was not a movie used saber. It was an actual MPP flash, worth $800. It was sent to the factory in China where they replicated the parts then mixed the real in with the repros. It's not Parks fault entirely but he is still to blame. Does not mean he doeskin have top notch parts and sabers.

I have been very happy with my Parks QV and the service. I wanted to order from some of the others but they either had stopped taking orders or were very backlogged. Mr. Parks accurately predicted the wait time. The one follow up email I sent asking status received a prompt reply indicating expected delivery and the saber arrived on the date indicated. When it arrived and there was a small problem, I received another immediate reply with an offer to send it back for adjustment which was expeditiously done and had the hilt back in a couple weeks.

many of you here at the costume forum here don't know me but I have been here for awhile in the film forum. To many times to count I have been held prisoner by master replicas ect. but last month I took a chance and did business with a guy named Tom Out of Oregon,
He is a great,GREAT saber maker and is honest and timely!!
I dont promote no body because I feel that I am responsible for a bad experience but Tom did good by me and thats all I have to say about that! ( forrest gump)

here is a link to Tom's Work http://boards.theforce.net/fan_films_fan_audio_scifi_3d_forum/b10015/22988333/p14/?338

He goes under the name Evil-Henchman but he's got a heart of gold.
if you scroll down half the page you will see the actual sabers he made for me and they are LED and originally designed! the price, to low to mention here and he should tell you in person .
Hope that helped.
He did the blue , green and red saber and they are clean, if he can't make your saber I'm sure he knows were to get the parts maybe'

I know I was pleasantly surprised happy

LORDWROTH, with the way you've been praising my work, people will start to think I'm paying you to do just that. wink

[whisper]I'll be sending you that $50 soon.[/whisper]

Seriously though, I really appreciate your business. I'm glad you like the sabers I made for you and thank you very much for your kind words... and the free publicity. grin

As far as legitimate accessory shops, I bought a saber belt from Parksabers, it took them forever to get it to me but then they stated that right away and asked if I wanted to cancel the order. I didn't and eventually got the belt. It is top notch and I would order from them again.

As far as The Custom Saber Shop (TCSS), I practically order from them on a regular basis. I buy my blades and electronics for all of my hilts from them. Fast delivery too. It's always a pleasure to do business with TCSS.

I haven't bought anything from Ultrasabers yet but I'm positive that they're completely legit and I would not hesitate to order from them if they had something I wanted.
