Modifying Rubie's Supreme Chewbacca
So, I'm aware that many are less than thrilled with the look of the Rubie's Supreme Chewbacca, but I was able to pick one up at a pretty decent price, so I'm planning to wear it for some Halloween parties this year. I've enjoyed making a jedi costume in the past, but I am not even close to pulling off the caliber that serious costumers do. Still, I'd like to make this costume look as good as possible on short time, and was curious if anyone had any experience or thoughts about modifying it.
Here are a couple of questions:
1. The latex mask acts like most I've ever worn. That is, it's warped and uncomfortable. What, if anything, do people put in these things to fill them out, or to make them sit at the eyes as good as possible?
2. Any thoughts on feet? I've considered heading to a costume store and see what kind of feet I can find, but any other ideas are welcome.
3. Given its usage, I'm probably fine with just leaving the mask and its fake mouth as is, but has anybody done anything to modify this?
I've seen some of the other posts on making a suit from scratch, but I'm curious what experience anyone might have had with the Rubies costume.
Thanks for any advice. Can't wait to have my one-year old daughter in her yoda outfit with me for the pics!

RE: Modifying Rubie's Supreme Chewbacca
The Rubies costume is certainly lame...but they all are...
That said, I happened to acquire one in a trade for a bandolier...I did wear it once for a costume contest at work....I won, but what do they know
Started with a hockey helmet, helps a bit with the fit & placement of the latex mask, but is a bit of a challenge to see. In the absence of some sort of cooling system, it is difficult to wear for any period of time. I also added a set of hockey shoulder pads to add a bit of size....depends on how tall and bulky you are.
I constucted the bandy out of mostly leather. All of these modifications certainly helped, but for all intents and purposes it works great for your typical work costume contest and the such, but I would hesitate to wear it to an actual SW event without replacing the mask and adding alot of fur to the body of the costume. I think I could be altered to be a pretty decent costume if you were so inclined. I have mine set up on a stand in my Star Wars room, just for grins.....
Made for an OK replica......but certainly not earth shattering.
