I looked through the forum and couldn't find a topic on Ahsoka (unless I just missed it), so I thought I would start one. I really like Ahsoka's character, even though she can be annoying at times, so I am making her costume. I have worked on several pieces of the costume already and I am waiting on my body paint to arrive so I can start experimenting with it. I've never painted myself so I am a tad nervous. The other night I worked on the guantlets and the tabbard, both of which I think came out really nice! I just wanted to post up pictures here to see what y'all thought.

Guantlet:

Tabbard (Still needs touch ups):

Not exactly costume related but I am currently making a saber hilt (that is not for myself) that looks an awful lot like Ahsoka's. I made some minor tweaks to the design as I don't like making exact copies of pre-existing saber hilts. It's pretty dang close though.

Neat costume. Good luck with the body paint. That can't be much fun to have on.

Ooh, that's lookin' really nice. I want to do an Ahsoka costume too. You're not in Arizona are you?
What kind of fabric did you use for the skirt?

Hi there. Thank you for your kind words! I sadly am not in Arizona, I live in Florida. The fabric I used for the skirt and will use for the tube top is called Alova suede in the color burgandy. I got it from Walmart out of a wrong purchase of fabric for another costume. Worked out well for this costume though. happy

At least we won't be competing for attention. wink Have you had any thoughts on what to make the headtails out of? I was going to sculpt the montrals out of styrofoam, cover them in leather or something, and then the tails that hang down will be stuffed fabric.

Lol. Yeah we are kinda far apart. I have thought of several ways but I most likely will end up having my friend help me with doing latex. It will just sooo much better doing it that way. I am going to do a test though with paper mache. Make it cheap, see if I like the costume first. happy

You still working on this? I'm going to start experimenting with latex. You're right- latex almost always looks better. And I like perfection. wink
If you get progress pics of your latex, I'm interested.

Your tabard is beautifully painted. Well done!

Another good trick for your lekku is stuffing pantyhose with cotton and painting them over. I used this method for my Aayla Secura costume, and it worked out beautifully.
