A friend and I are constructing some replicas, trying to get them as close to the originals as possible. We're wondering what to do to mount the scope from Luke's ESB blaster onto the source gun, a Mauser C96 replica, which is made of metal. I'm custom-making the scope using this tutorial: http://jedi5150.fateback.com/hw-m19-tutorial/materials.htm
So if anyone could give me the best, or most movie-authentic way to mount it, that would be awesome.

I would go check out the Blastech site. This guy retails DL-44 props, but you could look at the pics of his products to get a better look at how to mount the scope.

I would go here:
www.blast-tech.com

Thanks Aramy. Blast-Tech doesn't quite agree with my wallet...I've been able to obtain pretty much everything else except for the mount for a cost of less than $50. (My friend and I caught a break on a 2-for-1 deal and I convinced an eBay seller to give me a discount). That darned mount is the only thing holding me back now that I am jobless.

You're welcome. I got an airsoft Mauser, myself and bought some of Blast Tech's parts to add to the prop. It isn't 100% accurate, but then again, I didn't want it to be. I wanted it to be a custom DL-44 variant.

But I can understand if you are looking for 100% accuracy. No shame in it. Hopefully everything works out for you. There is a lot of joblessness going around. I'd like to hope that it will et better, but I fear it will get worse before it gets better.

Good luck!

Well, I'm not looking for an EXACT replica...just would like to mount this scope replica I made...check it out. Only costs $3 to make em, and they look pretty solid.

That looks pretty sweet... for $3 worth of parts, you really can't go wrong!
