	hi guys, i'm going to make a set of wolverine claws and have been searching the net for reference material, i found an old thread on here where a user called "sal" said he had a scan of a real prop that he used to make his, i've emailed him but got a delivery failure. so, does anyone have any info regarding them? i'd buy a set if i could, but i cant find any to buy (if i was going to buy them preferably i'd want them out of aluminium or plastic). there's some wood ones on ebay at the mo but they're pretty expensive for a few bits of wood from a bit of research i think i've got the rough dimensions, but if anyone else can help/sell me some i'd really appreciate it! (it'd save me making them!) thanks mike

	I used to see aluminum ones on ebay all the time. However I can't find any on there now. They are meant to look like they come out of your hand like in the movies/comics so the way they connect to the handle is thin and flimsy and the handle is very uncomfortable to hold as it is usually a flat rectangular bar. After doing a quick Google search, I found a couple of stores that sell them for $150 but both were sold out. I'm guessing this is because of the new Wolverine movie that is in theaters now. 	Now I have heard that for some of the scene shots in the movies, the Wolverine claws were actually attached to brass nuckles (or some variant, thereof). That may be an option. If course it would take some work, but I would think that having the claws attached to the nuckles, with some sort of hand prosthetic to make it look natural would be the way to go. - Bill -----signature----- "In for a micron, in for a meter. 	Those look pretty cool! That is what I am talking about, where the back of the blades would rest back on the top of the hand, that is where you would connect them to the "brass nuckles". Most brass have some sort of a knotch between the nuckles. There are some that are made to be one solid piece going across the nuckles, but by and large most types have those knotches. You could fasten the claws in those knotches and build up the back of the hands with some sort of hand prosthetics (latex covering and so forth) to make it look more natural. If you wanted to go for the Hugh Jackman movie Wolverine look. If you are looking for the Comic, or cartoon version, then working it into a glove system would be a lot easier to manage, I would think. - Bill -----signature----- "In for a micron, in for a meter. Those are the claws I was referring to in my earlier post. My roommate has a pair. Very uncomfortable to hold but they look like they come right out of your hand so that part is cool. Obviously a better, more comfortable handle piece could be made. As far as securing them for slashing/stabbing then what AramysStrael said might work. Not sure as the back parts aren't much higher than your knuckles.
