Is there an actual pattern out there either commercially or by fan available for either a shadow guard or royal guard? I tried the 501 site for Royal Guards but didn't see a specific pattern. Any help?

Many of us make our own patterns depending on the style. The base pattern I started out with is Simplicity 5794, but did quite a few modifications to get the outer robes correct. I ended up doing my own pattern that is somewhat similar to a choir robe, but the sleeves are changed to be to the ground even with the rest of the length of the robe with a front flap that goes to the opposite shoulder. Many of these things are trial and error because they just don't make a "Royal Guard" robes pattern for commercial sale.

I would just go to the Soveregn Protector forum and discreetly ask some of the members there. I would pick the collective brains of Ang and Lucious Talvlionne (I think I selled it right). They are two of the smartest cats to deal with... and they really know their stuff for the RG!

I used to frequent that forum quite a bit.... now I am about as active on that one as I am in the Spec_Ops detachment forum. Same with the Pathfinder Detachment and the Officers Corps, too.... I'm never on those forums anymore. I have a hard enough time remembering to check the main 501st forum.

Any links for those forums you suggested? I'm very interested in creating a Shadow Guard, eventually.

Absolutely! I don't know why I didn't include the link, laziness on my part, I suppose. Sorry about that.

Here is a link to the full, complete list of 501st Detachments:
http://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php#detachments

For the Shadow Guard, it is the Sovereign Protectors is the Detachment that you are looking for. You can find it here: http://www.forcepike.net

There you go... enjoy!
