Not really... the cost of materials for conversion will cost, easily, ten times that. I think the link that was provided for you is going to be your best bet. You could also try looking up "pepakura" designs, too. They are designs that you print out, cut and tape together to form the shape of the helmet. You then go through the motions of converting it into a hardened shell, either by resin or bondo. Either way, the materials alone are going to be more than a mere $5.
My advice is to just simply save your money and by a helmet if you have no artistic abilities to create one, yourself.
Also, I would suggest checking out the Mandalorian forums for other ideas. The Dented Helmet is devoted to Boba and Jango Fett. The Mandalorian Mercs are dedicated to all things Mandalorian.

You have $5 for a Mandalorian helmet and $20 for a Sith Lord?
Totally not necessary

Realistically, you better get a piggy bank and start saving your birthday money and Christmas money and maybe by the time you are 18 you might have the cash to buy costumes like the 501st....or may be by 21 or so....

Thing is, almost every Mando costume made out of cardboard looks like crap. If you want to make a decent costume, then you really need to save up and start piecing it together out of nice materials.

If you want to learn how to make Mandalorian armor, then you need to hit us up over at
Mandalorian Mercs.
There are a few options that you can use to make a set of armor that won't break the bank, but will still require some fundage.
