Yay! I'm also redoing my battlemaiden outfit for Cel III...after I lose the baby weight. (I hope!)

Obischick also did a *fantastic* version of the costume!

I guess we will have to have a big HM group photo. I'm still gearing for EirtaƩ, it's not much of a choice when you are blonde.

Hello! grin

I was just wondering does anyone have any helpful tips for the Padme Flame Dress from TPM. I have decided to start it, but I am puzzled about the sleeves and such?

Any suggestions? grin

Wow...that's a tough one. :~) There's lots of info in this thread, if you have the patience to read it!

My suggestion--start with a yellow fabric. Orange stretch velvet needs a LOT of dye to make it appear yellow!

It's me agian lol The user Jediwoman has a page for her flame dress, it looks very easy to use. I've seen her costume in person, and it looks great happy http://imageevent.com/merlynny/costumesandtutorials/handmaidentutorial

Oooh, that is gorgeous!

I started fabric shopping today...anyone have an idea what Motée and Ellé's "square" hooded gowns would be made of?

/bump

I'm looking at rayons, silks, and cotton blends. I don't think the skirts are actually pleated, so much as gathered and hang to create the folds. Anyone have an idea about what the part under the hood/shawl should look like?

Almost done with cutting out the pieces for my muslin battle outfit, or at least the bodice for it. I don't have enough fabric to do the skirt and slieve part.

Of course I'll do that.

I really have no idea about the ROTS handmaidens, maybe I will have time to check them out more closely later on.

Those ROTS Handmaiden costumes, I've been thinking about those a lot lately. lol I'm thinking those skirts are pleated just like Maul's cloak was. Sewn down the pleat edge to keep it that way. As far as what it looks like underneath, hmmm it could look like a jumper, or maybe a fitted long sleeved top that the pleated skirt joins to just under the bust line (like a regency waist)? I dunno...it perplexes me. Anyone with any better ideas?

Fabric...I don't know about rayon. Maybe a silk or a brushed cotton blend of some kind. Then there's the question of how much...ack!
