Yes, the skirt part of the coat will be a full semi-circle skirt, cut up in four pieces so that the nap on the fabric will be in the same direction all the way.

I'm hoping to start on the real costume in the weekend, I need to finish some smaller stuff first. And clean my floor so that I can have all the velvet there. wink

Well today I've finally butchered my muslin so that I can use the pieces to cut out the "real" thing. I've realised that I won't get it totally done in time for the 30th of October, mostly due to the fact that my lining wont arrive in time, so I will probably wear just the other coat and add in the lining later on.

I've just pinned the collar on, and then it's just the hemming and gold trimmings left on the outer coat. I will spend the weekend searching for a suitable pattern for the trousers.

So here's the only pic of me in my costume from the weekend. I didn't really have time to finish it, so I had to close it with safety pins, and still doesn't have any lining.

I was a big unprepared for the photo, normally I try to take my glasses off to get more into character.

Looks nice, HandmaidenEirtae! Anyone else working on this one currently? I'm working on it for CIII, and I'm at the mock-up stage... (so it's currently this lovely purple fabric I found for a buck a yard haha)

Anyhow, here's some pics in progress, it's comin' along (though I have to throw it into high gear of it'll never be ready in time wink

What handmaiden costumes is anyone bringing?

I'm working on finishing up my battlemaiden redo, touching up my flame dress, redoing the maroon cloak, and possibly bringing my Dormé dress. I have the fabric for the TPM disco ball parade (green) gown, but not enough time, I think, to finish it.

Must not let thread die. GB, I'm thinking about doing the Green Gown for Halloween (despite it being so far away.) Can you give me a few tips?

Hmm, I was considering perhaps trying to make either the battle dress, the yellow one, or maybe the green gown. Any of you guys have some tips? Which would probably be the easiest for someone's first costume?
