I'm going to be making this costume soon.
Have any of you looked at blankets to use for the material for the "cape"? I've been looking around at some that might work.
I was wondering. In these pics, are your pants lined? I don't see any underpants lines! (he-he)
I bought a thicker cotton knit that has lycra in it. You can't see through it but it sure will show things.

Yes, my pants are lined. But I also didn't use any lycra at all in my outfit (I thought it looked too cheesy). Here's a pic of my pants (there has been upgrades to other parts of this outfit sinc ethis pic was taken).

My pants are not lined, but I wore beige tights underneath them just to give me an extra layer of coverage.

It looks good. thanks for the tips. It's what I though - lined or pantyhose.
My Fabric is mostly cotton knit but with a touch of lycra in it for body.

That's my biggest problem...The wrinkles!  Cuz mine are really thick, but they just won't be flat!

Looking good so far.
Good luck on getting it to fit. I used the "Actual" pattern for it, the one that rips it off, and the shirt ended up being two sizes to big for me.

Hey, if it's too big when it's all sewn up (check before heming), then just pull the material to the sides (like the top while you're wearing it) so it's tight across your body and have someone pin the fabric so it's closer to you, or just mark it with a pen that'll come out during a wash session.
The only reason why I gave up hope was because one: I didn't realize how to fix costumes to fit (even after two years), which I'm thankful for my dressform. Since I got it I've learned how to construct anything without a pattern, which helps me a bit more with the overall construction. And two: because I just could not get that seam across the bust down (then again the pattern I used was completely off, wasn't even fitting to itself) and after so many attempts, I just lost interest in it.
And that's the rest of my rambles.

I am going to make some armbands out of pleather because the metal ones I am having made won't be ready for the RL event on 10/28 that I am wearing this costume to. I ordered a shawl off eBay and I modified it to make it look pretty accurate. Now, all I need to do is make the headpiece. I found these barrettes at beauty supply store that had hair in coils on it that looked EXACTLY like the real thing so I bought a bunch of those and I am going to cut them off and attach them to a fake bun thing from the same store. I also need to get the Rubies belt so I can cut off the pouches and attach them to my belt. AND for my birthday, I ordered the boots from CABoots but I told them to make them in bone leather(they said they could make that style in any color). I can't wait. The seam on the shirt was a little tricky but well worth it. I can't wait to post my pictures very soon. My digital camera is broken and I won't buy another until I can get a digital SLR so I used a regular film camera.

Wow, I'm so jealous that you're getting the caboots in bone color! I didn't know you could do that!! I got just th white ones and dyed them. I think they'll still work. The boots, aren't very accurate, but for Padme boots, they do work really well. You'll be happy.
Where do you get those hair coils? I'm kind of at a loss as tohow to make the hair peice.

I got them at a beauty supply store that mainly sells wigs and hair for braiding. They had this particular barette in brown coils and light blonde coils. If I can talk to someone who understands English there(they are Korean, I think), I will ask where they got them or manufacturer info. I am going to post a tutorial when I get finished with my hairpiece. I am jealous of your armbands. I couldn't figure out how to make those out of metal  so that's why I am going the pleather route. And your fem Anakin looks awesome so far.

Thanx for the help PrincessLeia911. I'll look around some beauty supply stores here now that my car is out of the shop. I have yet to explore the shops in my new home town (I'm going to college). If you do find any info on what you have, it would be cool if you could post it, and I'll definately check out your tutorial once it's posted.
The armbands I have now aren't metal, they're just expandable PVC. But my aunt is a jewelry maker, so sometime before MegaCon (Feb) she's going to make the metal ones for me.
Natalie: you look like you've been working hard! Great job so far.
