Here is my doll version of this costume:

She still needs shin guards, but it is otherwise complete. More pictures of her can be found on my website.

Nice conversion. I was always surprised they didn't make a 12" figure of her in this costume.

Hey guys! My armbands are finished!! They are little too long, but I think they work.

I hope I'm posting this question in the right place, but I just wanted to get a little bit of input from people who have already made this costume.

I'm running through my "rough draft" of the shirt using the Simplicity pattern. I've got some issues to fix with the bust seam, but it's going better than my first rough draft did.

My issue is the "breast plate." I've been looking at tutorial on PadawansGuide, but I don't know anything about piping or creating pintucks. Anybody have any tips about how I can learn about this stuff? I did some Google searches (nothing extensive yet), but I haven't found much so far. I'll keep looking.

Thanks! happy

I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about. If not, then ignore this, lol. THe vertical seams going down the breast plate? I didn't do piping. I instead just made thin little folds and sewed the material down. I did this four times along the rectangular breast plate. This made the seams stick out. If that doens't make any sense, maybe you can tell what I mean by looking at my shirt (ignore the neckline cause it's all wrong, lol):

That is exactly what I was talking about. lol Thank you! I wasn't sure if I could get away making some folds and sewing them down like that or not, but I guess I can! happy I'm assuming that the "breast plate" is just an extra piece that is made separately and then sewn to the actual shirt? So more like...two pieces put together to make one.

And if I'm making no sense, I'm sorry. lol It's late. I'm tired, and I have no business being awake. tired

Yes, that makes sense, and that's what I did. I cut a rectangle (put interfacing on the inside of it), did the vertical seams and sewed it into the short with the flat felt seam that goes around the breast. Then I put it on and my mom marked where m y neck was so we knew where to cut. But you can see how well that went, so you can do something different fo rthe neckline. Just remember to make the rectangle a little longer so that you have room to make the seams.

Umm....I dunno if that's supposed to be a perverted remark or not. If not...I used the book Dressing the Galaxy to see the seams so that I could make all of my seams just like hers.

No lah! tongue I meant some "illegal" (legal for us ex-staffs) stuffs I got on my Harddisk and now my Notebook (Ya, I finally gotten for myself a Notebook last Sept) which will be very useful for those bloody anal about accuracy. But sadly, can't share them as they are only "legal" to the few of us to see as we "earned" it.

Ya, gonna try using them to help me when I next redo my Padme Outfit, Ver. 3.0 which hopefully by my own hand (Ver. 1 was assembled parts, Ver. 2 poorly tailored but then again it was the "Bodysuit" for my Padme Snow Bunny Outfit)
