afaeryschild -
I have scanned in a few images to help you with your yoke for the skirt. I happened to use a modified version of the yoke pattern from a Jeannie costume. McCall's pattern 9559. Just imagine that it is a skirt rather than pants. The instructions are scanned in as well.
I scanned the pattern I cut out at 100%, but it is viewing and printing smaller than actual size. Oh well, at least it gives you an idea.

I hope that helps,

Sorry If I'm breaking a thread, but I just have to add my two cents. I've been away for a few days, and so much has happened. A new Padme pattern, talk of a new thread, and more new friends This dress will never die will it?! We won't let it.
Thanks for the link to my site fairychild--:)
And, on a personal note THANKS so much for all the kind words in PMs to me. I have been away from the boards due to a horrible tragedy in my family, and I just wanted to say that your words and flowers (OBI-DAWN) meant so much to me. I've missed you all, am so glad to be back
Luv,
Ferd

If you want a rounded yoke, Simplicity 9825 has one. There is a picture of the skirt on the site: http://www.simplicity.com/s3index.htm
I just finished making up this pattern (for an everyday skirt) and it was really simple to make up.

Sakura, don't lose heart! If you look back like 15 pages or something, you'll see that I couldn't find my corset fabric for the longest time. I wasn't willing to settle for less than exactly what I wanted though, and sure enough I found the exact fabric. The color was white, but it's dyeable, so it worked out fine. All this suffice to say that if you wait for the right fabric and don't settle for anything less than your own standards, you'll eventually find it!

Welcome Madeleine! (I LOVE the name Madeleine )
Yes, Sakura, don't lose heart. [b]Mrs_M is right, you'll find the right fabric sooner or later.
And, at the behest and encouragement from many of you lovely ladies here, I have completed the most relevant info consolidation into an index like post. It's chock full of the 25 pages worth of everyone's information, links to resource photos and sites, links to finished costumes, links to which patterns everyone has used, fabric suggestions, construction tips...etc.
So, if no one is completely opposed, we can have the new thread up later today and it will be linked to in the final post of this one.
So, in the words of a marriage officiant, "Speak now or forever hold your peace."

Well, I certainly think we're due a new, more organized thread on this costume --
While this thread has been fabulously informative, it's gotten to be so overwhelmingly huge that I think it almost can't bear its own weight anymore.
So, I'm highly in favor of the new and improved one, Obi-Dawn.

I agree with surlygirlie. It would be really nice to be able to look at one page and find the resource you (read: anyone looking ) were looking for and not have to read 25 pages before you found it.
