Sithman, just keep the **** eating grin off your face as much as possible, and act like it's your regular clothing.

I wore my robes again today for the Free Comic Book Day promotion at my local comic shop. When I walked in the door and flipped dowm my hood there were about 30 eyes all on me and it felt great! I got many questions like "Where did you get it?" and "Are you a real Jedi?" The best question I got was when I walked past the drug store and an elderly man walked out, gave me a double take and said, "If you're a monk, the seminary is about 3 miles that way." I thought that was cool.

I'm wearing mine to school (with my friend Jason) everyday starting Thursday... that is if we can get away with it. Our school is pretty strict on dress codes.

You should be careful walking around, look what happened to poor Master_Comyn from these boards:
Here
Warning this movie is 13.5 megs long, because I SUCK at compression. .mov file, ON2 codec (I think).
If that link doesn't work, click here, and right click and save target as jesus7.mov.

Thanks, I wasn't involved with it at all, the camera man, and the poor Jedi in the movie handed me the tape to capture.
I have a better version available, at here. Just right click and save target as. The movie is again the on2 codec, but this time only 7 megs, instead of 14, and with some crappy subtitles so you can almost get an idea of some of the dialouge in case you can't understand it.

Hi guys, I was planning on buying and wearing the Anakin boots regurlaly coming this winter. Anyone have experience with those type of boots? They seen cool but must hurt after long days.
I would just wear my pant legs over the boots, unlike in the movie where they tuck the pant legs in.
I also want a robe and was planning on wearing it regurlaly but i was thinking that since it drags a little doesnt the bottom get worn out pretty quickly? And how hard is it to wash it after a rainy day?

Wow that's so cool! I wish I was that brave. Mind you if I did go out in Jedi dress in Swansea nobody would have a clue what I was dressed as.
I was very brave last Sunday though. I went out to my local park on a sunny day when it was full of dog walling old people and football playing blokes in my rough version of period Victorian dress with odd hair and all so that my friend could take photos of me for my photography project on self. I got such strange looks, people just walked all the way around a huge field just to avoid me edged away if I stood anywhere near them. I was glad I had Ally with me she made me look vaguely normal.

Ooo, when those pictures get developed, let me know. I'd love to see them.
(Victorian/Edwardian clothing is actually my favorite costuming thing. Shh! don't tell anyone! *laugh*)

I love Victorian and Edwardian clothing too! What I was wearing wasn't very accurate (I ransacked the back my wardrobe again) but you still got the feel of it (I hope). It ended up looking rather like something that Liza Dolittle in My Life Lady would wear, especially my clumpy Dr Martin boots (devastatingly inaccurate I know but hey I'll just say that it was my artistic interpretation).
I developed the films today in school and hope to get some prints done tomorrow in lesson time so I should have some to scan in pretty soon oh and that reminds me I still need to get some decent "Antigone Maroon" ones done.

I love hearing these stories.
I've been costuming at Sci-fi conventions for a few years now and anyone who's not "into" sci fi is called a "mundane"
At every convention we do a "Freaking out of the Mundanes" Which means - we go out in some public venue in full costume. Nothing like walking into a downtown mall with a food cout in the company of several Kilngons and vampires and medieval lasses.
We once had several security gaurds follow us around.
My favorite was a female Ferengi from Star Trek. I went to the Arby's across the street from the hotel for a bite. The cops were int here eating too and actually had to come over and see what we were up too.
Most people have a ball when you explain what you're up to and why you're in costume. You'd be surprised at the closet fans that are out there.
I do the SCA thing to and have no worries about going around in costumes.
But then - I'm a bit of a drama queen anyway!

LOL, I'm in the SCA, too. Here in the DC area, there are Civil War re-enactors, Renaissance Faires and so many people of different ethnicities in native dress that it is IMPOSSIBLE to "freak the mundanes." I bet I could wear a Jedi costume to run errands and no one would bat an eyelash.
My sparring partner wore hers to Celebration, and reports that one tiny little girl broke off in the middle of a crying fit, ran over to stare at her, and said to her mommy "They do SO have girl Jedi!" LOL

I think movie fans wearing costumes other than Halloween is SOO stupid.
Unless the costume is from Star Wars!!
