I have completed building my first saber, pics will be posted shortly, but I want to build another saber, something with "blades" on it. Anyone here know how I can go about doing something like that?

My Saber is mad of my old brass light fitting it fits my hand perfectly but it dose have any buttons, grip or anything, just a realistic emmiter. What can I use for buttons?
And what is this Yellow box thing? I might try it.

The
Big Yellow Box
is a site that contains instructions on how to make 8 different light sabers.
This seems to be the most commonly recommended lightsaber construction site.

"how much to O rings cost"
well were I live with tax they are about 40 cents a piece, thats just a rough estimate though. My favorite Park saber would definitly be the Double Helix!!!! that is the coolest thing that I have ever seen, ecspecially since I'm really into double sabers and double bladed sabers. So to have both in one is so cool! of course then there is the price of 450$...

buttons and blades
well, for buttons, OSH had a collection of lamp knobs and fittings that I thought worked rather well. Just be prepared to improvise.
For blades, I built the saber around the fact that it had a blade in it. I started with an irrigation tube (1/2" or 5/8"), and got drains and fittings to go around it.
check out www.racicot.us/~mmueller/html/props.html
Be prepared to experiment.

Anyone use D-Ring belt clips? Someone posted in one of the lightsaber threads about a belt clip that you could snap it in and out of one-handed, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I thought they said it was in the automotive/key dept of wal-mart, but I couldn't find it there. I found one but you still have to use two hands to release it...

My lightsaber might be done tomorrow. If it is, I'll take pictures and show it! It's a doublebladed, so it's going to be cool.

Heres a pic of a friend of mine holding my newest creation.the hilt is full size, nearly 15 inches long.with a huge guard on it.pretty much unlike anything ive ever seen.we nicknamed it the "Bat Saber".
In this picture there are NO special effects added.the blade has a special reflective tape around it and when the flash goes off it glows!!!really cool for the fans that come out to our events because when they get home and develop their pictures they will wonder where the saber effects came from.
check out our site and look in the gallery.under special events there is a link to alot of pictures of our most recent event at a Vipers Arena Football game.lots of shots with that saber.

Honestly the Covertec clips are the only one handers I have seen that work right with your hand, the release switches on on the sides not the top, plus they are more durable...and for $6.50, not a bad price.
I like them more...as for D-rings one day I want a Luke ESB so

No, I'm absolutely positive, someone even posted a pic of a one-handed d-ring clip. My new machined saber has an OT style d-ring on it and I'm looking but can't find the one they posted about a long time ago (it doesn't help that I can NOT find that thread).

RE: Your Lightsaber
the reflective tape i used was from Academy Sports.biking section.
it comes in silver, orange and yellow.
but all three colors will reflect WHITE.alot of the pics we took had a solid white glow with a few having an orange hue to it.i did use the orange and it looks cool just holding it.
i have a friend in the trucking biz that may have found some red tape that reflects red.if that happens i will make another vader saber to use.

Sorry. been out of town and still catching up.
Yes I do use O-Rings for the grips. They are 35-40 cents as was said above. The problem is finding enough. The local stores only stock about 10 at a time and I use about 20 to 25 on a saber. I go to several stores in the area and clean then out. LOL. They do stock a few more now. I need to find a source where I can get them wholesale.
On another note. here are some sabers I made for members of my fan Force.
