Thank you ladies! happy

I'll put it on sometime soon to take pics.

And thanks, Sola, but all the credit for the CIII hair has to go to Holly. blush She started on it the night before by sending me to bed with rollers and then continued putting it together the next day. Unbeknownst to her, I'll probably recruit her again to do my Leia buns at D*Con. wink

Obi-Dawn the dress looks incredible! You've done a brilliant job!!

I finally got to wear my new dress over the weekend. I love it to pieces! I still need to cut thinner belt plates, and finish the sleeve hem (it's just the selvedge at the moment), oh and get white boots, but other than that, I'm really happy with it! grin I might also have to remake the belt, as it's a tad too large, and slips down too low on me I think.

Anywho, here are some pics grin

Just bought my wigs, 3 long straight ones and they were only $10 each. Now I get to take them apart to re-do the base one so you can't see the base netting. And take apart the other two to make the buns. Fun!

I've finished my hairbuns--I used braiding hair purchased at a beauty supply store (inexpensive at $15 in all) and wound them together. The only quirk is getting both buns identical...although they both look pretty good, they're not 100% symmetrical. Oh, well. Now I'm waiting to pick up my serger from the repair shop...once I have it, the dress will take no time to finish. This dress has been a welcome break, and so fun to do! A friend of mine wants me to make one for her little girl's school halloween party... happy

Okay, maybe I'm crazy, but I swear I remember someone posting pics of their Clone-Wars-style Leia dress based on the GG maquette: http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com/news_images/13848_41003_1.jpg But I've looked back in this thread and can't find it. Er...help?

I'm just wondering how many of you ladies that have used the Jet Set Poly from Joanne's have lined your dress? My last version of the dress was only one layer and very see-through so I ended up wearing a sleeveless, mock turtleneck unitard underneath. I don't actually want to line it because it can get hot and heavy. Any thoughts?

I always line the dresses I make - especially the ones using the jet set. The dress on display at the SW exhibits is lined too, so it is the movie accurate way to go as well.

I recently finished mine using the JetSet poly and I lined it with JetSet poly. I was going for screen accurate and the outer fabric and lining fabric look to be the same.

I didn't line mine, as I felt it was thick enough not to need lining. I've never had a problem with it appearing too seethrough (thankfully). But I used a polyester interlock for mine.

Mine is lined in the jet set poly as well, I wanted it to have that look of the promo photos where you can see that it is lined in the same fabric it is made out of. happy
