And... even with warped heads (which shouldn't result from any sort of timing belt breaking; valve damage, sure--but not heads) and $3500 worth of work, it's still going to be cheaper for you to fix it and keep it than buying a new(er) car. If it were a non-interference engine, you'd be even luckier. I hope this helps. I know how much you love that car, and being able to keep it would mean a lot to you.
