I hate to say it, but I'm somewhat unimpressed with the season so far. The first ep was great, but it's getting kinda long. Sad, since it's a short season, but it's not coming together as quickly as I would have thought. Next one looks better, but last night's ep just didn't flow as well as it should have, IMHO.

I was noticing that as well OW, it almost seems like that since they decided that this was the last season they are throwing every plot line in at the same time regardless of it fits together.

I'll have to watch them again, but I think the last couple of episodes were cut and edited differently than what I'm used to. I think it's throwing things off a bit. Plus, we are watching some beloved characters spiral down into the pits of Hell. I say some, because I *hate* Tori, especially the new Tori. I think it's a crying shame to see the Chief spiralling down so fast. Tigh.. I love and hate the guy, but I wish he's hold it together better. Not sure what i think about Anders... but being married to Kara would frak with anyone's mind. i'm also somewhat unimpressed with Lee's newfound piety as the Rep for Caprica. Sorry, but I don't watch BSG for frakking politics. I want to see Apollo and Starbuck blowing up frakking toasters!!! With their Vipers! In space!!! Frak the "As the Battlestar Turns" crap!

Although seeing Baltar get his *** kicked was worth slugging through the episode. That was absolutely worth the price of admission right there!!! Too bad the rat bastage lived.

It's sad that with a short season (and iirc), one that's getting broken up at that, that we have to go through omethign so slow, and with the rabbit trails we were given. Next week could be interesting, as we see Leoben again, and Helo and gaeta obviously don't like working for Captain Loony Bird. I sure hope this season ends well. If not, I'll just get Seasons 1-2, maybe 3.

I will admit it was fun seeing Baltar get smacked down repeatedly, but having Six pick him up the way they did bothered me. I think it broke that illusion they've fostered that the Six Baltar sees may just be a delusion. Up until last night I've always had the question of, is Baltar truly seeing Six or just completely insane.

It'll really torque me off if they make Baltar the hero at the end of it all.

I agree, JP. That was weird. Also, I felt left out, so I had to post in black, too.

Both these confirm the new pattern: an unlikely intimate pairing every episode. What's really bugging me is these hot young women hooking up with skanky old men.

The "everyone spiraling into madness" seems to be the way they're going, because yeah, being stuck on a ship for 3 years would frak with you. But it didn't have to be like that. Remember about halfway through season two, when Chief was working on the new stealth Viper, and Apollo said to him, "Look, no one's expecting any miracles." And Chief said, "Maybe that's the problem." And they went on to build this cool amazing thing, and it was so uplifting, and I thought, "Yeah! They're going to make it!" I don't think parking on New Caprica entirely ruined everything, because the escape still had this "Yeah! They're going to make it!" feeling.

But now it feels like they're being sabotaged, every character is being sabotaged so that nothing good could possibly come of anything anymore.

I really need to get over this and stop ranting. Hrm, onto some Doctor Who, methinks... Because tens of thousands of fat babies getting a new life in the off world colonies is much happier.

*if you havent seen friday nights BSG, get tivo and dont read this post*

i hope that the next few episodes will explain everything we have seen so far this season. hopefully the writers will grab us by the nipples and show us what we want!

but as we have seen with other shows(x-files, simpsons, lost,) i really shouldnt go on... that tv shows can lose their luster quickly and cant wow us like they did the first time we saw them. we cant blame the writers strike but we can blame the writers and producers for approving plot arcs that dont really come back down. i love this show, but i need to see some really fraking cool stuff soon. they cant think that air locking cali was good for the chiefs character. seeing starbuck sleeping for 10 seconds was not needed. adama and the prez being an old married couple and the tory character is a season behind. tory could have been a good character but its too late. why didnt 6 know what tigh is? or does she? maybe thats why she kissed him. if she is in love with baltar, why hasnt she asked for him yet? why is he not locked up? if i went and hung out with binladen for a few months would the president let me out to talk smack to anyone? i dont think so. as far as baltar being the hero, why not? there really isnt anything he can do now but preach. i dont think he will be able to get back to the cylons. they have kept his character close to the original series which is something i wanted to see.

i think this is how its gonna happen.

they are going to get to earth 2008 years ago and baltar will change his name to jesus and preach to the earth people about the one god. the cylons are actually human but are just a different race and will die in a basestar crash in roswell. starbuck will get frozen with a wooly mammoth, then float to seattle, thaw out and start a coffee company that fills souls, not cups. lee will fade away quietly and then resurface to fight rocky. saul will continue to be frakin saul tigh! in 2009 someone will open the tomb of athena and release the ghost of lorn green and a new show will air called battlestar 2010 and bill adama will play baseball with children.

i hope things pick up and that doesnt happen but thats where we are headed.

It was definitely a better episode. I still wished Chief woulda knocked Baltar around a bit more. devil Next week looks like a doozie, based on the preview.

I missed it entirely. I vaguely recall Rachel yelling "Ohhhh! He pistol whipped him!" but I was running around the house frantically looking for my dice so I could leave.

Speaking of, I should go order those dice I found the other day...

I know everyone seems disappointed with the new season but I'm not. Everyone wants all the info right now! Who's the last cylon? I'm willing to wait til the end and enjoy every minute leading up to it. I'm fine with that. I enjoy watching Baltar's bumbling through every circumstance, he's the perfect victim. Always reacting to them instead of thinking it out cuz he's a scared rabbit.

I think taking Calley out was the only part I haven't agreed with so far. I really liked her character.

Starbuck needs her FRAKKIN' head examined! She sooooo pissed me off this week! She's responsible for a crew death and Helo is right on to stage a mutiny. They can throw Leoban out the airlock again too! devil

Poor Chief. I can't help but feel for his suffering. I want him to find out that Tori killed Calley. I want to see how far he can remove himself from the programming he fears. All of them really, except Tori is the only one embracing it. That's why I'm starting to dislike her.
