I have neglected this thread, bad Mistress! blush

Yesterday in all the panic, I kept thinking that this was gone. I havent ever scribed a single word into a baby book; this thread has fulfilled that need for me. So, I plan on backing it up and keeping it up.

Julien has recently started singing little songs she makes up. Most of the words are unintelligible, and the tune is silly, but she interjects recognizable words here and there and it is very sweet to listen to.

She can sing almost the entire alphabet, with help, and can also get through most of the itsy bitsy spider song. Very sweet.

The other day we were listening to the radio and she sang, "Hey dere dewiwah" It was precious!

This is my first day back at school since our week alone together, and although I miss her I am SO GLAD TO BE BACK AT SCHOOL!

We went swimming at Uncle Justins pool yesterday. At first Bean just clung to me and shook, and I was convinced she was terrified. I couldnt see her face b/c she had it stuck in my neck. My mom swam over and started laughing...turns out Bean had a "Mona Lisa smile," according to Gramster. I put her arms over a fun noodle, grabbed her legs and "swam" her around the pool. Good times.

Unfortunately, my legs are killing me.

Our ewok LOVES my parent's pool in Florida. Except she doesn't know how to swim either, but she talks about it a lot and going down to visit them so she can go swimming...

If you're sore, then think of the good exercise you got. wink

My mom just called me at work because Bean wanted to talk to me. I guess there was a dead crow on the sidewalk in front of the house and it was being, uhm, "tasted" by another crow. She was pretty upset about this. She asked me if I would come home and fix the birdie. I told her that sometimes animals get broken and cannot be fixed. Then I told my mom to shut the bleapin curtains and see if the neighbor could come by and pick it up and put it in a bag or something.

Poor baby, she is so sweet. She kept insisting that if I would come home and give the birdie some wa-wa it would fix-y him. sad

I am not ready to explain death to a two year old.

I posted this in a different thread, but I found it so funny that I want to keep it here.

SWseen&heard: I was working on my laptop the other night, and the Bean wanted to hang out with me in my room...so I thought, okay. I opened up my tote of 12" action figures and let her play with them. She had a great time asking me, "Who dis?" and "Dis one make noise?". I was kinda wrapped up in my homework, so I decided to put on ANH and let her watch it. I watched with her for a few minutes, and then went back to my homework. Every once in a while she would ask me a question..."Who dat?" "Thats Obi Wan Kenobi." "oh, obi-obi-obi." Fun-ny.

About halfway through the movie she starts telling me, "Dulie scared." I looked up at the tv and saw that it was the trash compactor scene. I told her it would be okay, they wouldnt get squished, shush and watch the movie. I turned back to my laptop and she starts screaming at the top of her lungs, "Alligator! Alligator! BIG EYE!! Gets him! Dulie Scared!"

It took me a few minutes to realize what the frell she was talking about, but then I jumped up and ran over to her. She clung to me, and asked me to turn off "DarDoors." I obliged. Unfortunately she had nightmares that night and I ended up with a baby in my bed.

This one too.

PoliticsThrd: I had to go to the doctor yet again this morning (antibiotic resistant strep. ) and on the way home we were asking the Bean what she would like for lunch. She said, "I dont like Barack Obama." HUH? I had no idea she even knew his name! My mom and I looked at each other and asked her to repeat what she had said...and she said it again clear as day. We laughed for twenty minutes! I think we have been watching too much political commentary.

My mom asked me if I had taught her to say it. No, duh. I kinda like the guy. About three weeks ago she pointed to a picture of him in the paper and asked me "who dis?" and I told her.

It was freakin hilarious.

Last night, we were lying on the couch with our storybook and talking before bed and I told her, "Jules, you're beautiful." She looked at me with a pensive look and said, "I boofull?"

"Yes, Love...you are beautiful." She looked at me, and looked at her Fiona doll and said, "Mommy boofull too. Fiona boofull too." It was so sweet. She listed me before the ogre.

Other than my mother, that is only the second time anyone has said that to me. Even though shes a toddler it means the world to me. My daughter thinks I am boofull. love

Another SW story.

Bean was playing with Watto and Princess Leia. She has evolved to the kind of play where she voices the dolls opinions of each other. As I am watching, Wattos claw pulls down Leia's dress...I start watching and listening more closely.

"Wattu, hep me fix my dress." plain

Princess Leia's dress is pulled down to her waist.

"Wattu, hep me fix my boobies."

Watto's claw tries to pull up Leia's dress.

"Mommy you fixy Princess Yeyas boobies?"

I start laughing hysterically.

I tell her to ask her grandpa for help.

"Papaw, you fixy Princess Yeyas boobies?"

He helped her, and I LMAO!

Yesterday we went to the circus. You all know the one...they leave free tickets at King Soopers? The ticket said free child admission with the purchase of an adult admission. I thought, okay...how much can it be?

It was sixteen dollars just to get in. All of the workers looked hungover, the elephants had crazy bloodshoot eyes and sores on their skin...I think it was a foreign circus, perhaps from Mexico? Of course it was contracted by the Shriners so the first ten minutes was introductions of the grand poobah and all of his attendants, both local and national. rolling_eyes

After it started, the Bean seemed to dig it a bit. The feral children surrounding us seemed more interested in running up and down the bleachers, stepping on me numerous times in the process.

Then the clowns came. Their makeup was scary, and dripping off their faces in rivers of sweat. They had thick accents, so it was hard to understand them, and their idea of humor was beating the crap out of each other. I hear this strange whimpering sound and look down at Jules, and she looks terrified. She starts wailing about being scared, and cant we just go someplace else...so we walk out, getting stamped on the way just in case she changes her mind. We sat outside for about ten minutes, and I tried to figure out just what had freaked her out...she told me, "I dont like people." sad

I wanted to respond that I really dont like most of them either, but I felt my parental responsibility was to help her face her fear, not commiserate with it. I told her that large crowds can be scary and loud, but that I wouldnt let anything happen to her.

We went back in and I parked her stroller along the railing as close to the exit as we could be and still see the action. I sat on the ground next to her, and let her drink by lemon slushy and it turned out okay.

During the intermission she rode a pony and smiled this huge smile the whole time. After that we left. Once home, I told anyone who would listen that I will never be suckered into going to a "free" circus again. I'll drop a wad on the Ringling Brothers. At least I know the elephants wont kill me and chances are the trapeze guy didnt just slam a fifth of something right before his act.

I have made a plan to try and take her somewhere crowded everyday to help her learn to interact with strangers a bit better. I would hate it if I passed on my social phobias to her.

JBean has officially (and finally) made it through all three OT films. dancing

I believe Leah is her favorite, and as proof I offer these three words...words uttered by my tiny geekling every 4.5 seconds throughout all three movies. "Where Princess Yey-yah?"

And I would tell her where she was. It got me thinking. How will these kids see these films? Not as an average viewer, for sure. I am not the expert so many of you are, but I know much much more than the average person does. Because JBean is so young, she asks a lot of questions about what is happening, and I answer...and wonder if she is seeing SW or if she is seeing my interpretation of SW. Hhhm.

Regardless, she loves to watch them. We get our action figures, get in mommys bed and turn up the volume. During the opening crawl, I translate for her and she always asks me at the end, "Mommy where words go?" And I always reply, "They go that way," and point at the tv. rolling_eyes

She's not the biggest fan of Han Solo so far. Most of the time she says he is mean. She seems to really like Vader, though. She even sleeps with a Vader stuffy in her bed. She seems to understand that he is Luke's Daddy, but doesnt believe me that Luke and Leah are twins. Go figure. I think siblings are an abstract concept to her. She thinks its make believe or something. *shrug*

Last but not least...I hum lullabies to her everynight when I put her to bed. Mostly traditional ones...Rockabye baby, Lullaby&Goodnight, Twinkle Little Star....Lately she has asked for SW Music. nerd

That is funny, we have something in common, I don't like people either tongue

Just a hint (and I know you won't follow it) but when she asks you what is going to happen, tell her to keep watching & talk to her about what she thinks happens so then you will know how she saw it. I know it's hard, but it is funny to see things through their eyes and sometimes they see things you never did.

Sometimes I wish we could agree to disagree. Because I am, what I am & that's all I am.
When I said WE, you know I meant ME, when I said SW

I tried that last night with the Incredibles. "Where ElatisGirl?" "Watch and find out."
"Where Elatis Girl?" "Where do you think she is?" "Where Elatis Girl, Mommy?"

"Argh!!!"

Repeat ad nauseum. rolling_eyes

I dozed through the movie, so it wasn't all bad.

This morning she came out of the bathroom, and I noticed right off the bat that her hands were wet. The quickest way to find out what your toddlers hands have been into is to do the sniff test. The sniff test was positive for PEE. Ewww. So, I washed her hands and asked her how her hands got wet. She said, "I put lil potty in big potty." shock

She was trying to help me and had poured the stuff from her little potty into the big one. She barely spilled any! I was so proud. love
