When I was a younger man and collecting comics...
(according to Zac, that was a century ago when comics were first made)
I was a huge Iron-Man fan. An artist by the name of Bob Layton was doing the pencils at that time and is excellent with comic book panels. He used to draw Tony working in his lab which was always drawn as a huge laboratory and I loved that he drew like 30 sets of armor on platforms displayed all around the room. Tony is famous for upgrades in his suits.
I would just love a nod to Bob Layton in that fashion.
...and actually, I always loved the Red and White armor and The War Machine armor.

War Machine was cool.
I'm finally caught up on Legacy (unless ish 20 is out already?). All I have to say is, "NOOOOOOO!" But, who knows -- maybe they can recover the comic from all that craziness.

Whoa!
I'm a big Robert Downey Jr. fan, but for some reason I still can't wrap my head around him as Tony Stark.
Trailer was sweet, though!

I guess I still have problems getting past the "traditional" comic book image of buff superheroes kickin' arse from panel to panel. As much as I enjoyed Michael Keaton's take on the Dark Knight, I always thought he was just too "average" to carry off the physical aspects of the role. Bale clearly personifies a much more physically-accurate (in my mind) depiction of the character. Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman also fit the bill, as far as I am concerned.
Granted, Iron Man derives his "powers" from his suit, so there's really no justification for me to expect that Tony Stark is going to be some above-average physical specimen.
Maybe Downey's features just aren't chiseled enough to carry off the womanizing aspect of the character?
I have no doubt that he'll act the heck out of the role, though.

Even if his features aren't chiseled enough to carry off the womanizing, he's certainly done enough of it on his own time to pull it off.

He may not have the looks going for him but he does have the attitude down. The first trailer shows it great. The part where he is speaking to the reporter and the speech he is giving to the military brass.

Couple of great updates from the world of comics.
First: Batman: Gotham Knight promo video is up. Animatrix-style Batman. WIN.
Second: Barbie Collector reissues the superheroine line... and they look fantastic! I'll definitely be spending some cash on those.

yeah, the japanese have a real corner on that market and Batman is the kind of character who can thrive in this style and intensity.
Thanks Chicken, I wasn't even aware they were doing that.

Not sure if anyone here reads any Vertigo*** titles, but I have to recommend Y: The Last Man which just ended it's 5-year run with issue #60 last month.
Excellent book. I'm sorry to see it end. The author Brian K. Vaughan may be familiar to some as he was picked up by ABC last season as a script writer for LOST.
***Vertigo titles tend to be a bit more on the...MATURE...side, so our younger viewers should be aware.
