What are people looking for? Have they gone to another site? It doesn't look like eBay has much traffic anymore. Come on hip kids, where are you shopping?
Amazon and Froogle.
Although, I still hit eBay for non-mainstream items.
I think the problem with selling Star Wars items right now, is that everyone and their brother is doing it. It doesn't matter where you are -- Arkansas??? Need some armor? Heck, the guy over there with 3 tootheses has a vac table. Sandtrooper backpack in Canada? That French mime over there just made his molds last week. Even our own garrison -- there's a high percentage of people that are making something. People got so tired of getting whacked with a $650 armor bill that they started doing things on a local level, and now if you want something, all you have to do is ask.
And if there's nothing at a local level, just check the 501st detachment boards -- you'll find everything you need there. You can't be stand-alone anymore -- you need to make your presence known to your target audience and get a reputation.
And if you actually want to make money, you have to do something that 50 other people haven't already done before.
Hmmm...*ponders deleting this post after a day or so*

Also, just try offering kits of the metal pieces. That's it. I think those would sell like nubcakes. And let the buyer ask if you had anything else.
If I were a buyer, I wouldn't look for a completed costume. I'd look for parts. I wouldn't buy anything that was complete for 2 reasons -- 1) it's probably used, and 2) *whine* I wanted to build it myself.

Shucks. 3 years ago I had the top bid for a piece at toast in a jar at $57,000, and you shut it down.
What's worse, is I e-mailed the girl later on, asking if I could still buy it, and she said that she really couldn't part with an item that she was so sentimental about. She offered me a piece of bread in a jar for $1 + shipping, but I just couldn't do it.

yes, we had to shut that down. we found out she was misleading in that auction. turns out what she really had was half of a burnt bagel. not even a good bagel. a rasberry bagel. she lost the other half when the toaster burnt down from the bagel burning.
thats why she could only offer a plain piece of bread.

Well see this is one of those items my boss doesn't want to take a "risk" on. Because we know some guy from South America is going to win the auction and we're not sure if we can trust the postal system to ship it all the way down there.

Oh, man, I said it was only a matter of time before it, or a map to it ended up on eBay.

Oh, and Bumblebee.
At $60K, it's going to skew the Blue Book listings for broken down POS Camaros. LOL.
