That's just poor quality. I'd see if they'd swap it out, otherwise I'd request a return and refund. That bent means they pulled it out of the mould too early and it sagged while setting. Also looks like they knew nothing of casting because you have to vibrate the bubbles out.
Sorry to see you got such a crummy piece.

*sigh* That's what I was afraid of, but I had doubts because I'd also heard that poor quality (compared to the standards we have) isn't unusual for something like this.
Problem is, I've been so distracted by other things that I let this slide a long time. It's been over a month, and if I were going to complain and ask for an exchange, I should have done so earlier. *sigh* Well, I'm still going to give it a try. And if he doesn't get me a better copy, I'll have to leave bad feedback for the poor quality.
Thanks for the opinion. I knew it was poor quality, but I didn't have a frame of reference for what was considered acceptable.
edit: Well, my message has been sent. I asked if it would be possible to exchange for a cast of better quality. We'll see how they respond.

Oh WOW. That's worse than I thought. That's probably a 4th generation recast. But that might just be me being optimistic.  There's better detail on the action figure pistol.

Got a message back from the person today. They apologized for the quality and admitted that the mold was getting old and they'd probably pushed it too far. I'll be sending it back for a refund. They said they'd let me know when they get a new mold.
*sigh* well, good thing I wasn't in a huge hurry to get that Endor Leia commando costume finished, I guess.

Hey, before you do that, take a hojillion pictures of it with a ruler sitting next to it? Maybe even on top of some graph paper with dark, heavy lines...spaced 1/2" or so. So long as it's readable?

I found the CD I just bought last week for 18 dollars, on ebay for like 81 bucks

Hah. You're in luck. I was suppose to send it back today, and just saw your post right now. Lucky for you I forgot to find a box and couldn't send it today.
Graph paper. *squint* Huh. I'll have to see if I can find some. My lab notebook has graph paper, but it's not full 8.5x11. I'll see what I can do. At the very least I'll take pictures next to a ruler.

Dunno, but I'd rather not have a DC-15 in 4 heavy resin pieces. I would prefer something lightweight that doesn't shatter if dropped. Saw that happen with a E-11 with a resin kit this last weekend. heartbreaking it was.

i found a looser on ebay. i paid for an item over a month ago and havent heard anything yet. three other people have left bad feedback for this guy in the past couple of days saying that they didnt recieve thier goods. so i started up the dispute process. this should be fun
