The old Star Wars Seen and Heard thread was locked, so here's a new one.
Darth Maul, the romatic Santa Claus - a friend of mine took this picture outside a store in Kyoto, Japan. It must have taken a genius to come up with this... it is so wrong, on so many different levels!

CERN Digital Signal and Processing class/workshop - the CERN (particle) accelerator school is holding a class on digital signal and processing this summer, and the poster advertisment is on a board right outside my lab. I looked but couldn't find an online image of the poster, so I'll have to describe it...
The background is of space, with stars and a nebula. There is a sphere covered with electronic components in the foreground, with electronic boards (picture a computer motherboard or other card) floating in formation going from it off into the distance. At the end of this formation is a picture of the second Death Star, basically, what they were flying off to.
It's cool that whoever designed the poster must be a SW fan, but kinda creepy if you really think about the implications (technology leads to superweapons?).

I can picture that T. Sounds cool. I don't suppose you could snap a digital photo and post it?
...and since you thought about the creepy implications, I'm not going to! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! (runs in fear of being super laser targeted)

From the auction house's web site:
The top costume prices in the sale were:
Cloak worn by Alec Guinness as Obi Wan Kenobi from Star Wars - £54,000
Ownership of Obi Wan Kenobi's cloak was battled for by two telephone bidders.
That's about $104,000! Wow! I'm betting it's not going to be a teenager's Halloween costume.
Footnote: Also from Star Wars is an imperial commanders uniform, estimated at £8,000-10,000 ($15,000-$20,000).

Clonetrooper in one of my favorite episodes of How I Met Your Mother (CBS). It was on repeat last night. Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) has it on a stand in the living room of his apartment.

I love that show. But it's the yucky Rubies full-body 1-piece costume. I know they probably couldn't get a fan-made costume, but it is a nice touch.

I know it's not Star Wars, but it is Firefly-related. Morena Baccarin was in an episode of HIMYM as a barista with "crazy eyes" that called Barney "Swarley." That episode was so awesome I kept it on the DVR. I think.

Ok, I really don't want to start any discussion on the actual topic of this news article, but I can't help but point out that one of these women is obviously a major Star Wars fan, given her name: Leah Vader.
