Well on Scott's front... He took the Chantix for 3 weeks... and hasn't had a cig in... today is the 5th day. He also has stopped taking the Chantix as he just doesn't seem to even want a cigarette anymore. We'll see where that stands tonight as today is his first day on the new job lol, but I'm optimistic for his success.

No bad things happening, lol...unless you consider being grumpy and eating too much chocolate bad things. 
I am amazed how much easier it is this time as compared with past attempts. I havent wanted to talk about it much out of fear I will jinx myself.

Three weeks and change and the crazy smoking dreams have begun in earnest. Every night I smoke in my dreams and feel all guilty and icky. When I wake up it is hard to let the guilt go. Weird.
I am enjoying smelling the flowers and smelling like flowers as opposed to smelling ashtray and smelling like ashtray.
I went camping a few weeks back and my patch fell off. I didnt notice any cravings, but I guess I got a bit nasty. One of my brothers friends hooked me up with a ton of the cinnamon nicotine gum. Tasty stuff. She has been chewing the gum for four years now. I definitely don't plan on that, but it is nice to know you can find some that doesn't taste like bum if you need some.

i remember having those dreams too. durring the dream i was like oh yeah baby this is great then i would be like oh crap! what if someone sees me, then i would wake up and feel bad for enjoying it. they will stop. just keep telling yourself you dont smoke anymore. dont feel bad about the dreams, they are just the habbit part of your brain thinking abuot it.
be careful with the gum. i only used the patch for about a week because i didnt want to replace one thing for another. but do whats good for you.

Today is day 1 of no nicotine replacement therapy...Yup, no more patches. I was supposed to use the 7mg for another few weeks, but when I went to the store to buy it and saw it was forty bucks I said "Uh-uH!"
so...no mo NRT. Might not have been the best day for it. I have been having insomnia for about a week now, amongst a myriad of other issues. Needless to say I am hating life today. Big time.
No danger of smoking, though. I don't do that anymore. I have some gum in my bag in case things get hairy, but am planning to tuff it out. In another twelve hours or so there will be zero nicotine in my system. Pain now is worth that, IMO.

Strange but lately I've been craving something. Naturally I think it's smoking, but it could be chocolate, either way I'm not giving in!

I refuse to let that happen. I failed last time because I let my self slip...the first slip last time was after only one month. Didnt have another for a few months...but the point is I kept letting myself slip, and it just got easier and easier to do.
I cannot allow myself to slip...there is no such thing as, "just this once." Its an addiction. Its progressive. And its pervasive.
So, no. Sorry I gave your tummy a fright, tho.

I found a picture of us smoking. I cant get it posted but...
Valentines day, 2003 @ OWs broomfield/boulder apt., on his patio,
SC, ZOO, Mistress, DH, OW, and I took the pic.
(OW appears to be... faking...?, and ZOO.... whatever)
We're ALL smoking.
and now, we've ALL quit.

That was before my last bout of pneumonia...probably my last smoke ever.  And oddly enough, probably the only picture of me with a cigarette in existence.  I was just so hardcore
