That backbone is huge. While individual cables are 21mm in diameter, the bundle that supports Asia is like 5-feet in diameter, and it would take an unbelievable amount of force to break them. They think a ship's anchor could have done it, but I've got my money on our military readying a giant space monkey-lizard killing nuke as I type this...

I'm looking into the possibility of trying to buy a house. Or at least seeing whether a) what I can afford can b) match up with anything I would care to buy. So far I've met with a mortgage person for the former, and tomorrow night I'm meeting with a real estate agent for the latter. I'm suppose to be writing up this whole thing about what I want in a house/property, but instead I'm procrastinating here.

Anyhoo...
Seeping water is looming disaster
Basically, a drainage tunnel in Leadville collapsed sometime over the last 10 years and there's about a BILLION gallons of toxic waste trapped inside a mountain and it's going to blow soon. You can dig up all sorts of stuff by Googling "Leadville mountain water." Once it blows, the Arkansas River, and possibly the Pueblo Reservoir (supplies water to P-town, CSprings, and half of Denver) will more or less be dead. Cheers!
