Can't seem to loose anything. Starting to get frustrated again. I even went camping this weekend and we walked and biked a lot and I watched my food consumption. Just irritating.

I am now totally decaffeinated...i am shock myself.
I have lost around 5 lbs.
I am really taking Sith_Slayer's advise on the organic and raw foods. I am drinking a lot of smoothies. this morning for breakfast i had a blueberry, rasberry, strawberry and banana smoothie with organic pear juice and rice milk. IT was really good. I have discovered with fruit you are really full.
I haven't gone totally raw foods...i still like my whole grains..last nite i had a bowl of kashi cinnamon harvest cereal with rice milk. YUM!

Sushi does sound super good.
Don't hurt me, but I now fit comfortably in a size 11 dress, and all I've been eating is pizza, eggs, and bread (for the most part).
I think the real key is eating a crapton of protein in the morning for breakfast to get the ol' metabolism going, and then it doesn't really matter too much what I eat for the rest of the day.
But I really should get better at eating healthy. I'm going to try bringing protein shakes to work for the next week for lunch/dinner instead of getting Qdoba every time I forget sustenance.

The thing is...my goal isn't only weight loss...it is to feel better and not have to take my meds and just to be eating the way we were supposed to.
I spend a fortune on asthma meds...if i can get to a point where i dont' have to take them. well Praise God!

SO i went camping in New Mexico this weekend. I did really well. I only had one "bad" meal in Sante Fe. A couple of Margs and a quesdilla. Which I paid for later with the worse heartburn.
My friend i was with got a little pissy with me because i would not use the sugar free syrup. I said, in a nice way, that is ok, i would rather have fresh blueberries instead on my whole wheat pancakes. she said a little artifical sweeter wasn't going to kill me. I tried to explain I read some articles and would rather not eat that anymore. she was not receptive at all.
I decided that until a person is ready to make change, they aren't going to listen even if you are saying things nicely. it was just frustrating being chastied for making healthy choices. as if I AM the one doing something bad.

I started my PED class today. I am 22% fat. He said thats well below the average for females...but I still feel kinda squishy. He said if I follow the workout he has designed for me and eat healthy I should drop to about 15% by the end of the class. That sounds much less squishy.
So, I ate a salad for lunch, no dressing. And a boiled egg. I can already smell and taste better after just a few days sans smoking, so the no dressing thing wasnt that bad. *shrug*

I went to the doctor today for my sinus infection, and they weighed me on a different scale. With all my clothes on, my shoes, and a pocket full of keys, I was at 159. Considering that the last time I was weighed in the office I was in the 170's and their scales are higher than mine, I felt good!

RE: New Motivational Thread

So this thread has been AWLFULLY quiet.
Ok so i have stopped the caffiene. I got You Tube working so i am going to start those excercises posted. I am slowly switching over to raw type of foods. i mean i will enjoy some fish and occassionly chicken (not RAW of course) but today i am experimenting, I had a pear and an apple for lunch. I might run downstairs and get a banana, going to see how that does until dinner.
As some of you know i was working at Denver Water and it really opened my eyes to the lack of water we have and such. So i found this bit of information. i was honestly shocked....it is a little preachy, however, it is a good thing to keep in mind if we are trying to be more green.
Are you aware that nearly half of all the water usage, 1/3 of all fossil fuels, and 80% of all agricultural land in the USA goes to the production of animal products? It’s an incredibly wasteful industry, especially considering that we have to grow most of our crops just to feed those animals. You actually save more water by not eating a pound of beef than by not showering for an entire year, not to mention all the other resources consumed and the pollution and waste production. Consequently, I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that a non-vegan environmentalist is an oxymoron. (If you want to peruse a good source for such stats and details, The Food Revolution is a great place to start.)
It’s not that favoring local produce doesn’t help, but if you’ve already gone vegan, then it’s sort of like asking a bald man to get a haircut. It’s a distraction from the bigger problem. If you want to save tons of water and energy and cut down on a great deal of pollution, just skip your next burger (or convince a few others to do the same). Unfortunately there are certain interests that would rather see you fuss over where you buy your tomatoes than look into where the real waste occurs. But if you’re going to fish in the environmental sea, then fish for whales, not minnows, at least if you want your efforts to matter.
You’ll have a more positive environmental impact if you drive a Hummer, shun recycling, buy all your stuff from the opposite side of the planet, and eat vegetarian a few days per week vs. eating a SAD diet while going completely green in all other areas. I know it’s hard to make the connection between that bite of chicken and the destruction of rainforest, but it is what it is. The chicken isn’t too happy about it either.

If this flu hangs around longer, I should be down to 145 by the time it finishes. That's my pattern, to lose 10 pounds every time (this is the THIRD time I've gotten it since Mr. Bug came along...I blame his love of chewing on shoes for the first time, and his drinking from any cup he finds for the last 2...) but really, I'm happy to lose the weight the 'right' way. Now that the antibiotics for the sinus infection are kicking in, I actually feel good enough to exercise again.
