Go here and Click on Denver for the local pay.

GS-7 is surviveable (I've been supporting a family of 5 on GS-7 for almost 3 years. It's not a great standard of living, but it beats getting laid off or working at GAS. whistling And it's a start.

Also, rumor mill is that the jobs I put in for and had cancelled on me will get re-posted with a Accounting Degree requirement. If you don't put in for that, I'll slap you. beatup There are a ton of jobs in this building that are more for the accounting type. I already know that after I get my BS degree, I will go back and try to get to either the 12 or eventually the 24 hours of accounting classes. Those seem to be the magic numbers for some jobs. I already have 6 hours of accounting, so that's only 2 classes to get to the 12 hour mark.

I will keep my eyes open, but not sure I could take a pay cut right now, but I would have to take benefits into account. I'm paying through the nose right now, so that could make a big difference.

Bennies are good. If you haven't done it yet, you really should set up an account at USAJobs, and have a running search engine. It'll email you when there are positions that match your requirments.

And I'm not paying that much for insurance. You'd have to talk to Mellisa for full details, but it's not bad. Definitely not through the nose. And in this economy, stability and retirement are a huge plus. So even though I'm still p!$$3d that they cancelled the jobs I was going for, it's not enough to make me look outside of the gov't. Yet.

After talking to the Dean of the engineering school (here in Ptown) I was shocked to learn of all the yummy engineering internships that are in my immediate vicinity. Yummy. I may be poor today, but I wont be poor for much longer. raised_brow

Yes. Yes I will. I plan on staying here through the rest of my undergrad education. Internships pay wages and pay tuition. Grad school is another story. I will go where they offer me the most. So at that time, I will move.

Probably. tongue
