I should have mine just about done by the 7th. I'm sewing up the tunic & shirt tonight, already have the pants, the boots are their way & I have a line on a belt. I'm doing some thrift store shopping this weekend for the kids costumes & trying to find the silver things for my face.
Where are you guys at?

did you look at hobby loby? for the jewels? I just surfin E bay looking for a cloak.
i found the perfect one for 80 bucks.

I'm telling you, go down Broadway, through the Antique district, they have at least a half dozen costume shops/thrift shops & they will have a much cheaper cloak for your needs.

EL Bokken saber done, starting work on back-scabbard....EL armour plates cut & patterned onto full suit, inverters ready, awaiting light panels, still need to construct battery packs for armour. Mundane black "Luke" suit prepped, awaiting boots and cumberbun. Yet to start on mundane hilt for Kempe daylight ops....may buy green acrylic blade from CF.
While you're tellin' us how it's goin', tell us what you're coming as, too!

pam is going to go as mara jade. easiest idea I could come up with , she wants to do amidala but come on the only way you going to do that is being darn good with a sewing machine.
I'm having trouble getting on the site for big yellow box. but I think I'm going to try and make our hilt's anybody have sugestions.

No, when I had this time warp party for my parents anniversary a couple of years ago, I got a bunch of period stuff for my and my siblings and only spent 40 bucks total for 4 outfits

As to the hilts, DH, I would just follow the CF principle and use aluminum tubes that fit inside one another...bevel cut one or two and fit them to the outside of the longest one in whatever pattern you like...add a few gems and/or knobs/controls, some kind of grip material, and a clip to hold it on your belt. The CF models seem to use an outer tube with an inside diameter of 1 3/8". Good constructin', ya'll!

CF's double bladed looks like monkey crap. I'm gonna build one of my own. That thing is like 6 inches long lol Maul's was the size of 2 hilts, not one with 2 ends, looks ridiculous. If I make one, i'm gonna mass make them and SELL SELL SELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL MWAHAHAHAH-ack! *cough* *cough*

yes maul's or any double bladed saber is going to be a hard one to get just right cause it should be long enough to fight with it like a bo but still keep that sword like apperance.
where else can I see more sabers besides big yellow box.

I ment the hil has to be sword like . it has to be long but if it gets to long that takes away from the blade cause once it got so long it would no longer serve its perpose as a bo it would be to long , you would then have to handle it more like a pike or weighted staff at that would not be good for your fingers.
