I think the problem's actually a general lack of enthusiasm for canon. I really liked the A/T scene in the prologue of Invincible, but I just don't believe that Lucas Books/Del Rey will do anything with the character. I'm not even sure I WANT them to, since they've wrecked just about everything else.

There are still quite a few 'fics out there with Anakin playing an important role, actually. Maybe it would help if the readers were more vocal with their support, writing replies and encouraging the writers? Maybe if all of us made a point of R&R'ing one Anakin 'fic a day?
I'm also trying to get an A/T challenge thread going, as - like a lot of us, it seems - I still think they're stronger together. Look for a new challenge there quite soon!

I'd strongly recommend this one-post 'fic about A/T in childhood to anyone who's not read it yet.

It's an ongoing series, and a pretty awesome one, with Anakin returning after the Yuuzhan Vong war to a troubled Jedi Order, and to a girlfriend and family he barely remembers....

To be fair, I could ask you a question about commenting on fics... but I'm nice and won't do that.
The GFA is the Galactic Forums Alliance, a group dedicated to liberating the EUC from the self-proclaimed tyranny of Sinrebirth! (Lots of fun, and rather silly. )
It was a good read; I liked it. I'll have to take a glance at the second one you recommended.

Okay Thrawn - I found the thread. Boy it's been ages since I've been here - [feels guilty].
Hey there M_K - great to see you again. How is life? The GFA sounds hilarious.
Slilent_One - there are actually quite a few A/T stories still. Not as many as there were a few years ago, that's true - but they are there.
I think the problem's actually a general lack of enthusiasm for canon.
I think Thrawn hit it on the button. I only read canon now to keep up with the play and to get enough context to read some of the fanfics.
I also think Thrawn is correct in saying that the A/T crowd don't advertise their stuff very much. We tend to be pretty quiet - and let's face it, too nice. LOL Rather than other 'ship groups who appear to be more proactive, some of us quietly support each other, but that's about it. We could be more supportive and make more of an effort to keep the A/T stuff in the first few pages.
Have you looked at the A/T magazine for instance on the A/T thread in resource? We have reviews of A and/or T fics and also a section for writers to talk about their fics. Any A and/or T writer can submit material. Maybe I should advertise it more and make it more visible. We try and keep up a good quality publication each time - variety and well-written articles etc. We also try and be as inclusive as possible, but we can only achieve that if people will join in.  It seems a lot of A/Ters are pretty shy.

On the other hand, I don't think we want to be too obsessive about it. Just a little honest enthusiasm and focus has created more activity here than there's been in a while, and two A/T threads bouncing healthily on page one in Writer's Resource. I count... FIVE... 'fics with strong A/T plotlines on the first page in Beyond the Saga right now, too...

Well, the answer comes in today's daily A/T review: "Jedi Adept: A Path In The Dark", by Kidan.
It's the latest installment of a pretty closely canon-compliant 'fic series, set during "Legacy of the Force", but it's included as A/T by virtue of the OC it's focused on - Tahiri's padawaan, Noelani Darklighter.
If you've not read the series yet, start at the beginning with "Greater Than The Sum Of Their Parts". If I tell you that that A/T-describing phrase is used here as a description of Noelani, you might get an idea of just why Jedi Adept is so emphatically appropriae for this series of reviews.
I hope you enjoy it.

And now for today's daily A/T review: "Legacy of Love" by Klimt_Of_Tornesdal.
This one uses a premise that's been seen before in A/T AUs: Tahiri travels back in time from "Legacy of the Force", and saves Anakin during Star by Star.
In the first couple of scenes, I've been really impressed with the "Legacy of the Force"-era Tahiri, portrayed with combination of ruthlessness and love; and as well as robustly effective characterization for Jaina, Tekli, and a NJO Tahiri, we have an Anakin Solo who seems endearingly in-character, considering the situation he's in.
But one warning: I have NO idea where the author's going with this.
