Today's A/T 'fic review is "Practice Makes Perfect", by Jedi-Ant.
It's an older 'fic, but it checks out.  This one was written back in April last year, and it shows Anakin and Tahiri as adolescent Jedi in their late teens, in a Galaxy that seems to have gone AU somewhere between Conquest and the end of Star by Star, which is a good place for stories to go AU, if you ask me.
It's a great vignette, a character scene combined with a little interpersonal "action" (of one sort or another ) which really captures the personalities of the maturing "best friends", a little further on along the trajectory they should have been on in the later NJO.
Some people might find A/T a little playful and... impure here, I admit. The sexuality and banter involved - featuring A/T and, later on, another couple from that era - is on the edge of the limit for "family-friendly", but I think it's light-hearted and written with a delightfully light touch. Life is a close-contact sport, after all, and these two know how to dance.
 
All in all, I really found it immense fun to read, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Today's A/T 'fic recommendation: "Dark Legacy" by ImperialSolo.
I'm not able to review this 'fic, as I feel I'm too close to it (for reasons I don't quite want to explain ), but I'm providing the link, as I don't have time for a read-and-review tonight.
It's an AU set in 31 ABY, in a Galaxy that seems to have gone in a different direction during the events of Dark Empire: the Empire still rules, and Jacen, Jaina and Tahiri are among its Force-trained warriors.
Anakin Solo, on the other hand, is a pirate, a smuggler, a scoundrel... a Rebel...
I hope you enjoy it! Have fun!

Today's A/T 'fic review: "The Latest News" by Maggy.
This is a light-hearted little one-post starring A/T, with a cameo from an Ewok.
It's much less of an action/angst 'fic than some of the others that have been featured here so far, although there is some drama, of a relatively frivolous sort: it's kinda fun to see A/T out of the context of canon plotlines and major Galactic conflict, just being themselves, and dealing with the troubles that come their way in a very together sort of way.
And who'd have thought she was so addicted to bacon sandwiches?!
This review was also a bit late being posted, so I hope the next review will go up pretty fast!

Today's A/T 'fic review is for "When Nobody Died" by star_writer24.
It's a songfic based on Nickelback's "If Everyone Cared", very short - just three brief scenes and three verses of the song - but very effective, full of possibility and meaning, and some tenderly tasteful mush.
Really, this 'fic seemed to me to be about tying things together: poetry and prose, the intimate and the universal, the earth and the sky... and of course... A/T.
Beyond that, I'll just let you read it for yourselves!

Slightly late, but comming in two hours under the wire...
Today, the A/T 'fic review is a brand-new vignette: "Anakin's Frustrating Fitting" by brodiew.
Like "The Latest News" the other day, this is another response to the Solo/Veila Resuscitation Association challenge. It's a bright little vignette, in which a married Anakin and Tahiri Solo are preparing for Jag and Jaina's wedding.
What I particularly like about it is the way that the familiar A/T characterization is combined with the experience of a long-term couple - and the way that their love for each other is balanced by the sort of irrational argument that people have... without the argument winning.
This is a very A/T 'fic, but in its quiet way, it's also something that's a little bit different from the usual - and still a lot of fun!

Today's... well, saturday's ... A/T 'fic recommendation: "Teetering", by Kidan.
It's a compact, Tahiri-shaped vignette - dealing with a very depressed and disillusioned Jedi Veila in the aftermath of "Legacy of the Force" - which the author nevertheless manages to transform by the end into a perfect expression of A/T. Personally, I think Kidan's stuff just gets better and better, and this was a REAL pleasure to read.
Go over there, and check it out?

Uhh... is it really two weeks that I've been behind on this stuff?!
Today's A/T 'fic recommendation: "Red Sky" by Lonewolf89!
This is a 'fic I've recc'd before, but the update is really good, so I think it deserves a reprise. This scene isn't obviously A/T - in fact, it's the most obliquely A/T scene in the 'fic, because it's Mara Jade Skywalker's POV, and she's not really prepared to process what that pairing means.
But the scene is, I think, absolutely redolent of the impact of our hero and heroine, the electric effect that their combination can have on other characters. It's a subtle scene, seen by a very flawed character, but it reveals brilliantly the strength and impact of our favourite characters!
Go read it! I hope I'll be back here tomorrow with another update!
