RE: EUC Forum Welcome Thread

Hello everyone!! I'm new here (just signed up today) and I was reading this thread and it looks like there are alot of EU fans here like me!! I have almost read all of the Novels that have come out and also collect the hardback novels. I try and read some of the comics but that just get a bit to expensive for me so I try to stick with the novels and the comic novels when I can find them.
My favorite character is Grand Admiral Thrawn (hence the name) and after just finishing the newest Timoty Zahn novel "Outbound Flight" I find him even more interesting and wish that he would do more novels concerning Thrawn. But I also like most of the other characters, and my favorite novels so far are all the New Jedi Order books. I can read those books over and over if I had the time to do so!!
I look forward to spend some time here while trying to kill time at work (plus it makes me look busy, LOL), and look forward to making new friends.

I am trying to find a list and history of every sith lord and jedi. I would also like to start expanding my knowledge of the Star Wars expanded universe...would tales of the jedi : the golden age of the sith, from dark horse comics be a good place to begin.

Shameless plug: nominations are still going on in the EUC Awards. Gooooo! Nominate now!
And yes, Damien. You could start there... but there are several different ways to get into it. There's a link here that you might find useful.

RE: EUC Forum Welcome Thread

Yeah folks hey!
Pretty much I need a bit of help here. I have read almost all of the EU books POST ROTJ. I thought many of them were good. I got into "The New Jedi Order" and liked the concept and the books. Somewhere around 'Dark Journey' and into 'Enemy Lines 1: Rebel Dream' it, for me, just bogged down into something un-readable. I kept trying while thinking MOVE ON WITH IT!!
Seems now the EU has moved past that and I need to know what is what. Is it worth my time to continue with this NJO business? What say you good people? I picked up "The Rise of Darth Vader" today and cannot put it down! THAT is moving a story!
I tried the threads on NJO and they are talking about Pirates of the Carribean. Is this the Twilight Zone? Someone give some links or something please. I LOATHE bogged down storylines.
Thank you in advance.

I'm not normally into spoilers, but if you gather that the books aren't worth your time (and I have a little trouble getting into NJO personally...) might I suggest Wookieepedia? You can source the books on there, read a general plot and then contemplate whether to continue the series or not...

yeah I have to second that... while not always the most accurate place on the face of the planet, Wookieepedia is like the Hitchhiker's guide to the SW universe...
star wars books
I use it all the time
watch out for the spoilers though...
